Good question. The synth was a Little Phatty Stage I packed in a Little Phatty Stage II box.
I also have nothing but raves about Nova Musik. I purchased my Voyager performer form them at a great price. I missed a sale that they ran by over a month, but they said because I was in contact with them about buying one during the sale that they would honor the price. Rapid shipping, tracking information… all in all exceptional service.
Nova Musik is a small business with a big heart and offers pretty much the best deals ever on a lot of boutique and specialty gear. I’ve purchased a LP SEII, DSI Prophet 08 desktop, and a Vermona DRM1 MKIII from them and have always come out with better deals than I could’ve gotten anywhere else sans maybe ebay. they’re fast with emails and ship almost immediately.
Love em!
That’s pretty weird, they sell new as new (ie unopened), and often have re-boxed items available at discount. They charge a restock fee in line with those discounts so it’s not like they aren’t recouping the difference.
I’d say that’s a rather anomalous asituation, and I’m sure they’d do an exchange for an unopened one upon request.
What I find VERY unusual is their general policy regarding dealing with customers and their pricing. Not everything is written in stone as in most every online and even walk-in stores. Of course, the have a limit as to how low they can go, but you can talk to them and tell them what pricing you’ve found elsewhere and do a bit of haggling.
UNHEARD OF in an on-line store. Dealing with their sales people is like dealing with a down home store. I’ll deal with Nova for as long as they are around.
I usually shop around to see what the general price is on-line, then go to NovaMusik to see if they have the item and at what price. Then, I call them so I can talk to them personally.
+1, nothing but praise for Nova. If you are international, definitely check them out for “special” arrangements.
Cubase and freebies are on the way a.t.m. ![]()
I found the bundle with the Voyager Select plus 3 Moogerfoogers and a bunch of other stuff, I wouldn’t know where to start if all that showed up on my doorstep…it’d be like christmas…the best christmas ever.
I think you’d need to have a month off work or something. ![]()
I’d need to get a job first, and I don’t need to mention what that’s like for recent grads at the moment.
+1 Nova. Bought an open box sh-201 when they first came out. It arrived quickly and in flawless condition. Seems like the prices are fairly competitive. I’m a sucker for free shipping ![]()
I honestly don’t know how they can let their stuff go so cheap. My friend who works for an indy music store said that Marshall called them once wanting to know if they wanted to buy any “B Stock” amps, meaning I guess that they had corrected problems from the factory.
THe only thing with my voyager was that it was missing Bank E which was corrected after Amos emailed me the file and I loaded it via MIDI.
If they sell it and I need it and Im buying it, Im buying it from Nova. SUcks to be my sweetwater sales rep.

Update:
Got the fantom today, its great. Though roland ships them in a box with styrofoam ends and not in a second box. That box one of the great people at the Utopian Parcel Service put the heel of their boot halfway through the box.
No word on the origin of the identity theft yet, though they bought like 200 bucks worth of itunes so they should be pretty easy to track down.

EricK, was the unit damaged at all? If not, that’s way good for you. I’m glad great strides are coming through regarding the identity theft fiasco. If no damage occurred I’d say this is awesome news all around! Though, I still would have opted for a Motif. ![]()
