I have had the RME 3 1/2 years now and this is the third time the same fault has happened.
The faults:
- Osc 2 makes a only a clicking sound as if it is operating at a very low frequency.
Osc’s 1 + 3’s mixer buttons can not be turned off, the volume can only be turned up or down.
When initialising a patch, all OSCs and noise levels are on and at the highest volume.
Sometimes the pedal modulation bus will not operate.
Some additional info:
- This is the third time this fault has occurred. When I got the Moog back after the 2nd “repair” the Initialise patch problem was happening (stated above) and the oscillator mixing level problem (stated above) was also happening. Very easy to work around these so I didn’t bother making any more fuss. But now oscillator 2 is broken again. It is basically un-usable. Something different this time though is that the osc sometimes corrects itself by turning the machine off/on again.
I have tried updating the firmware/re-installing on behalf of a Moog employee’s technical support.
I feel as if this unit is forever faulty, I have spent a good amount of money on it and it is now driving me mad. It is still in warranty until January 2014 but I feel as if the distributor is reluctant to replace it altogether.
Has anyone had the same or a similar issue with these? Would love some advice from anyone regarding this, I think i’ll be left with a faulty unit and be paying out my ass for yearly maintenance. (I know it’s analogue but I don’t feel this should be happening to a 3 year old well looked after Voyager).
Cheers,
Aaron.
