Blue mod + pitch wheels on Old School?

I see that Moog makes the kit available for Old School’s as well. Has anybody done the ‘field’ install of the kit and can they say that it’s worth the $179 or whatever it is for the sake of vanity (good looks!).

Give that Old School a little 20th (or is that 21st?) century flash, but without the flash[ing]. Speaking of which, Moog has a Factory option to tie the flashing to the Mod bus. Any ideas how much work it would be to tie this together if handy with a soldering iron?

Thanks,

I have blue wheels in my Old School though I didn’t do the field upgrade. I like the way it looks but would rather have red wheels.

Where on the Moog website is this being offered? I went looking for it, and can only find the flashing wheel mod.

Solder red LEDs where the blue ones were. And look for the resistor that is serial before or after the LED. Exchange this with some thing three or four times of ohms.
Every experienced electronic person should be able to do this for you in less then an hour including all preparations and talk.

Have a look here. http://www.moogmusic.com/voyager/?section=product&product_id=21265 It is actually an after-pressure (after touch) upgrade to old models that didn’t have that, but the Blue wheels is also included.

My Old school already has Aftertouch so it’s essentially $185 for clear wheels with blue lights in them, a pretty steep price to pay for vanity but I suppose you MIGHT be able to sell you original LHC on eBay for $50! to somebody that has solid grey wheels (assuming yours are smoked clear version).

I have the blue wheels on my Performer. Is it worth $185 to have them? Only you can answer that. Mine came with the blue wheels already installed, and I like that I have them. However, if they weren’t there, I doubt I would go out of my way to get them. But that’s just me, YMMV.
