My Minimoog voyager electric blue worked perfectly and i loved it, but then i found an update on your site and ok i though i update this fine instrument.

Everything whent crazy, Librarian updateprogram says Choose bank A and synth display says choose B and so on, but i followed the info the program on my Mac gave me..

After this my Moog whent totally black “Green”, screen is totally green and i cant read anything on it, darn..

What can i do to reset it or whatever needs to be done, i whant to play on my Moog

  1. What can i do to fix this problem “that the updater did, ot i”
  2. Can it be resetted?
  3. Panic, panic…

Help me plz if you have any solution to my greenscreen…

when you turn on the power, do the LEDs light in series (MIDI LED, then MASTER, EDIT, PANEL)? If so, then your Voyager is booting up OK but the LCD contrast has gone wrong. This happens occasionally after an OS update.

If the panel LEDs do not light in series on power-up, then the Voyager really is not starting, and this is a problem.

If the panel LEDs do light in series, then you may be able to adjust the contrast. If you look from a very very shallow angle in the right lighting, you may be able to see the LCD display… otherwise, you will have to “fly blind.”

LCD contrast is probably in one of two places. When you start up, try going to the Master menu, then press Enter, then press the -1 button repeatedly. See if this helps. If not, press Panel, then Panel again, then press Enter and then press -1 repeatedly and see if it helps.

If not, try pressing Edit, then Panel, then Panel again, then press +1, then Enter, then press -1 repeatedly and see if it helps.

If none of these, ask RL where else the LCD Contrast menu might be hidden.

Good luck,

Amos

Hey!

Thanxz for the reply, i tried everything i found on this page about pressing this and that, back and forth and nothing happens…

The Updateprogram messed up and got stuck in a odd way, anyone else has a solution for this??

The whole synth seems workin fine when it comes to leds and display and everything but its just stuck in a bad way…

Hi,
when there’s a missing or wrong bank the Voyager asks in the boot system for re-loading a bank. Dancelot99 can’t see this so first you should press ENTER, then MASTER, then ENTER and now press -1 repeatedly.
Have fun,
Rudi

WOOOOHAAAAA

MAN thanxz alot that did help, horray…

Thanxz a ton mate for the post, now i can see the display…

 i guess that i now have to upgrade to 3.4 and see if it goes better…

Dancelot99 is now happy

Fine! The 3.5 software version will get a “pressing two button reset function” after power on.
Have fun,
Rudi

Hey is there a 3.5 version on the way?? then i better wait for that before i try to upgrade to 3.4, i tried to update to 3.4 many times but never got it to work.

Synth says it whants bank D and Updater program tells me to pick bank B, thats a bit confusing..

Now i can see the display but i have to do this key pressing combo everytime i start the moog…

Now it says System Version is 3.4 but Bootversion is 3.3, dunno how to get Bootversion to 3.4…

But no i can use the synth

Thanxz a ton mate…

Hi Dancelot99,
the boot and the system version must be the same!
I have no experiences in MAC computers - I’m using a SysEx transfer program on my PC. In the MASTER menu page 5.4 you can update the 3.4 boot version (it is bank B). Maybe MAC users know an easy SysEx transfer program.
Rudi

Sorry!
I forgot to mention after the bank B transfer the Voyager will ask for bank D. That’s normal - bank D always must be re-loaded after a received bank A, B or C.
Have fun,
Rudi

Dancelot99,

You can try to update the OS using a different program to send the sysEx; it will be easier, I think.

Get SysEx librarian from http://www.snoize.com/SysExLibrarian/
and download the 3.4 OS from http://www.moogmusic.com/software/vgros3-4-62308.zip

Drag and drop the OS 3.4 Bank A, B, C, D sysEx files into the playlist of SysEx Librarian; then you can send any bank as you need it by selecting the bank file and clicking “Play” in sysEx Librarian.

Cheers,

Amos

Superthanxz guys!

These posts were very helpful and now both me and my Moog works perfect with 3.4

Horray…
