Hi, new (second hand) XL owner here.
Question 1, is there a better way to, when going thru pre-sets, change banks ?
At the moment I keep pressing enter to go thru sounds in the same catagory until it changes banks, then scroll back to # 1.
Question B, can you put audio thru the patch pannel? (probably a silly question)
Ohh and one more, my pre-set banks are all out of order acording to the manual. If I do a factory restore(pre-sets) will it restore all banks as listed in manual?
Great forum, thanx,
Jeremy.
G’Day Jeremy, and welcome to the Moog forum
Melbourne - Australia, or Florida?
Bank select is easy - simply press and hold the “Cursor” button, treating it like a shift key, and press up or down to go to the next bank. When you’re in a bank, remember that you can spin the external mixer control to screen up and down through the presets instead of having to repeatedly punch the buttons.
Are your banks or presets out of order" If the presets are out of order within banks, the previous owner might’ve changed some around to suit their situation. You can reset to factory defaults, but beware that these defaults are those the the Performer Edition - which is fine.
Press “Master” to enter master mode and scroll down to item 4.4 “Copyright Info”
Enter
Up Arrow to “Factory Sounds”
Enter
Cursor to “Yes”
Enter
You can route external audio in through the “Ext Audio In” port on the back panel. You’ll have to switch the External mixer switch on and turn the knob to full. If I remember rightly, you’ll also need to bring the filter sustain control down to less than 12 to hear it. Someone might be able to clarify this better. I’ve done it once, but it was a bit of a fiddle. Google was my friend.
Have fun - she’s a ripper machine!
Hi, Australia but Florida sounds nice.
Thanx for the tips, my banks are out of order. Not a big deal .
Yes I have been using the external input. I bought an EMW wcs-1 to add some more osc’s. Sounds awsome!
When you use SysEx to re-install banks, the Voyager asks for them in a peculiar order - not a-b, c-d, e-f & g. I wonder if someone has ignored this and just fed them back in the order they appear in their backup folder.
Melbourne Aus eh. Sydney myself. Welcome!
