I managed to run another synth through the SP audio input but I noticed that it’s treated kind of like an oscillator. In other words, I can’t use the sound in unless I’m playing a note within the SP.
Since I have a shortage of inputs on my interface, I wanted to just run another synth through my SP and have the audio heard at all times (without having to play a note on the SP). Is there a way to do this?
Thanks !

Hmm, continue with the dummy lead in the gate in, and turn the envelope generator attacks and decays down a bit (if not zero) and the sustains high. The reason I say this is because the signal will begin to fade away in the decay section of the envelope if it is turned up too high. I’m not sure if this is related to your problem, but I hope it helps. I ran my bass through my Phatty synth filter section recently without any problems using the dummy lead technique. An alternative way to get it working would be if your third party synth has a Gate Out you could patch that into the Slim’s Gate In.
Inserting a cable connected to nothing will definitely open the gate and allow external audio to be inserted in the signal chain. The audio is inserted before the filter. So, you would need to open the filter all the way for the external audio to come through clean. Both OSC all the way down so the Phatty does not sound. With this set up you can not play the Phatty too. Just process the external sound through the filter. Also, make sure the sustain stage of the amp and filter envelopes is all the way up. If you want the external audio to be affected by the envelopes as well, unplug the dummy cable and play the keys.
