We had to shut down Wednesday, as the “River” in Riverside Drive did indeed jump its banks - Wednesday morning we scrambled and got all the stuff up off the floor and as high up as we could. Then around 10:00 we had to leave - as the only roads out were under water. Fortunately whoever built our building built it so the floor is about 1 foot above the record flood level. This wasn’t quite a record flood. If you drove by on 19/23 South (future I-26) you could see “Moog Island”. We dodged a major bullet. Lots of folks weren’t so lucky - lots of businesses and artists’ studios got a lot of water damage. A big problem is with our water supply, as all 4 main lines were broken during the flood. We’ve all been conserving water so we don’t run out - some people already have - needless to say there’s a new meaning to “funky moog” until our water supply problem is sorted out.
Thanks for asking!!!
And keep on playing those Moogs!!!
Handel’s Water Music ?
Sorry
.
Glad things are not worse than they could have been. All the best for getting things back to normal as soon as possible. Sorry to hear about the other businesses in your community.
Brian
Best Wishes!

I don’t know if the flooding in Ashvile was related to Frances, but i live in Jacksonville FL and we were hit by some pretty scarey band’s including tornados.
I’m glad to hear Dr. Moog’s facilities survived OK!
Maybe if every Moog synth owner were to play a little harder or perhaps simultaneously, it will push IVAN away and perhaps destroy it.
A pipe dream of course, but things could get ugly down here in the southeastern US!
Best wishes to all (espcially to those who may be get hit by IVAN, company included)!
Glyph,
Just get your keyboards out of there - or waterproofed !
You come across as sounding very worried in your various recent posts, and that makes us all a bit scared.
Hopefully IVAN (a somewhat unfortunate name - but don’t let’s dwell on Cold War politics here) will vent its anger on the approaching islands (again, no Cold War references…but Cuba might take a bit of sting out of it).
When I die I want to go like my father, peacefully in his sleep - not like his 40 passengers, they screamed and screamed
Well looks like Ivan spared Jacksonville but it dumped on us here in NYS. I had to get all my gear to the second floor just in case - water never made it inside fortunately. Would’ve been a bummer to see my Voyager floating downriver ![]()
Can you believe this!
IVAN’s back around to Florida! It’s light but still around!
Oh well, here comes jean!
I hope everything’s back to normal in NYC. Wish I was there because the music scene in J-ville is terrible. Hopefully someday i’ll make it to THE city!
Best wishes & never quit the VOYAGE!
