As I was fixing some sticky keys on my voyager...

I must have shorted something. Now when I turn on the keyboard a picture of Bob Moog pops up on the lcd.
Must have been a very early version of the OS, she works just fine so in no way am I complaining, was just a happy surprise.

You can change this in the MASTER menu. I can’t point exactly where, but I think it’s COPYRIGHT, then use + button, you’ll see it in the menu. You can use the old one (with Bob) or the new (with the Voyager name)

The startup picture of Bob was a special tribute to Bob Moog done by Rudi Linhard (the german programmer of the Voyager firmware and Memory Moog specialist).

As you can see in my avatar, I used to be in real b/w pixel art a bit. I created the picture in the original 128x64 pixel size in November 2005. And Rudi implemented it within a week or so for the first beta of version 3.1.

yeah that is very cool!!

I have it set on the boot screen of mine, really dig it

thanks for going to the effort of making it available

gives me an extra bit of “Bob” mojo, every time I power up

Woah! An even cooler happy accident!

Oh great, am I able to pixelate any image to use as my avatar just like Bob and yours?

If you are willing to do so, it is not that difficult. All it takes its just a paint program able to draw single pixels. And of cause some heavy magnification to see what you are drawing. You may use a b/w picture as starting point and change its size to the one you would like to have. And then edit the pixels for clarity.

Alright, it seems easy, thanks!

Where do you stick the BMP in the OS firmware files?

You can’t implement a custom picture.
It was done by the one and only Voyager firmware developer Rudi Linhard as an official add-on to the Voyager. Not a custom job.
