Arp Solus

Someone was kind enough to give me one of these last night…it powers up, but I can’t get any sound out of it. I don’t think it’s a settings problem, but I could be wrong. There’s two outputs, for “high” and “low,” and I was switching back and forth between the two, never plugging into both simultaneously.

Does anyone have any troubleshooting ideas? I notice these aren’t worth that much…wondering if a professional repair would be worth it. Advice?

If it’s like an Odyssey it has no volume knob, make sure the VCA slider is up. Sounds dumb but worth a shot.

I was trying to avoid any dumbass moves like that, but it’s definitely worth checking again.

Are the high and low outputs similar to the T3s?

The VCA is turned up. That slider, marked ADSR, makes a scratchy sound. Everything else is totally silent, except for another ADSR slider in the filter section, which does the same thing.

Make sure the “Sustain” parameter in the Envelope is turned up.

Yep, it’s up. Still nothing…

Turn the resonance all the way up to make the filter self-resonate. If you can hear that, your VCA and filter are OK. Otherwise it gets more complex from here.

Nope! No self-oscillation.

He’s dead, Jim. :frowning:

You took the words right out of my mouth…
