Arp rate mapping Issue Cubase

When I assign the Arp rate to the mod wheel in the Mapping page and record midi data in cubase, it does not play it back properly.
Drop-outs and other weirdness.
Otherwise the editor seems to be working well so far.

thanks

Interesting; I have a few questions to help determine what is going on.

What exactly is the data you are recording in Cubase? Mod wheel I assume, but regarding the MIDI notes that are recorded…
are you recording the output from the arp (arpeggiated MIDI notes) while you hold keys on the keyboard? Or is it recording MIDI representing the keys that you press?

This is generally controlled by the setting Globals->Seq Options->MIDI OUTPUT, where your options are SEQ (outputs arpeggiated/sequence MIDI) or KEYS (outputs MIDI representing just the keys you press on the Sub 37 keyboard).

Additionally, when you recorded and when you played back, was Local Control ON or OFF?

(one possibility is, if you recorded the actual arpeggiated MIDI notes to Cubase, and then played them back with the arp still turned on… you’d definitely get weird results with Local Control turned on, because it would be like feeding the arp output back into the arpeggiator engine as input, instead of feeding it with constantly-held-down notes as you normally would)

Got it!

On thing that’s odd is that when I assign my M-Audio Code 61 as the KB Controller in the setup page on the editor, the mod wheel on the M-Audio will automatically control the Arp Rate on the Moog whereas the Mod Wheel on the Moog does not do that.
Not a big deal though.
