Okay so I found a good deal on a stage 1, but had some questions about the upgrade. Is the Arppegiator on the LP, or is it controlled via USB on the stage 2? I ask this because I wanted to get the upgrade if I got the stage 1, but I didn’t want to get it if the stage 2 has the arp. on-board. If both are controlled on a computer however, I was gonna go for the stage 1 and just get the upgrade. Any other advice on the differences in the stage 1 with upgrade vs. stage 2 would be appreciated. Thanks…
the arpegiattor is available on the stage I. it’s an OS upgrade available if it’s not installed alreaddy.
the only diff as far as i know with the stage II is the usb port.

As a point of clarification, the Arpeggiator is part of the new operating system - the USB port has nothing to do with it (save for MIDI synchronization, which can also be accomplished through the MIDI DIN connectors).
The new OS works on any LP Stage 1 or 2. You can update the OS yourself on a Stage 1 to add the Arpeggiator function and some other nice features. To learn how to do this, as well as read about the new features and operation of the Arpeggiator, download the update here:

(On this page you’ll need to click on the ‘Software’ tab to get to the OS updates.)
Note also that you can always add a USB field upgrade to a Stage 1 if you need/want it:

Hope it helps,

Thanks guys, that clears it up for me. I’ll prob get the stage 1 then since the arp. isn’t a hardware piece.
