Apple MainStage issues

Is there any interest in reports regarding using Apple MainStage with the hardware alone and with the AU Editor plugin? I played around with that yesterday for a while and immediately ran into several (yet not clearly identified) problems, which included freezing MainStage as well as freezing the Sub 37 (hardware)!

What I can tell right off the top of my head is:
(the hardware was hooked up to an External Instrument channel in the Concert or in a Patch)

  • MS/Editor: Having two instances of the Sub 37 Editor AU plugin freezes MainStage immediately. To have two instances seems silly at first, but you’ll have that as soons as you duplicate a MS Patch which contains a channel with the plugin - which seems like the normal way to work in MainStage (otherwise you can’t have different settings for the same channel/plugin/instrument, AFAIK)
  • MS/Hardware: When changing Patches in MS (without any Editor instance) the hardware would all of a sudden play sequences by itself, as if the D1 note was pressed. But keyboard was not touched.
  • MS/Hardware: Notes would just hang without any reason. Sometimes switching the sound presets on the hardware cleared that up, sometimes not.
  • A situation I don’t remember the circumstances, where the Sub 37 would not put out any sound anymore and had to be power cycled.

I am new to MainStage and the Sub 37, so some f theabove might be due to user errors, but even then I wouldn’t expect the systems to be impacted that severely.

There are quite many DAWs which should be able to use the Editor, but as far as the first release goes, only Live, Cubase and Logic X are officially supported.

Feedback regarding other DAWs is still important and very welcome. Priorities may still not be as high for every DAW, though.
