Anyone spring loaded their Moog Source Pitch wheel?

Just wondering if anyone has managed to spring load their pitch wheel? I really dont get on with the unsprung pitch wheel..

Anyone done it or know how to do it, or even if it can be done at all?

Moog/Norlin used to offer a spring return option for synths with wheels.

You need the custom formed spring specifically made for the wheel, not easy to source.

It isn’t an issue with me as all my wheel-equipped moogs are on the MIDI buss and I use the spring-loaded pitch wheel on my MIDI controller.

Weird how the world works - when I owned a Source one of the things I loved about it was the fact that the pitch wheel didn’t automatically self-centre.

Since it was tied into the slave oscillator whenever hard sync was activated it made more sense (to me, at least) to have the unsprung setup where you could “set and forget” at a certain waveshape.
