on the “FM Block” preset and various others(percussion)…ive noticed that if you have one note pressed down and you press another note there is no sound/ response… but if im on “thank you Bob” preset and i have one note pressed down and play another note, it will just cancel out the first note and sounds the 2nd note… can anybody tell me if this is how this is suppossed to work for the fm block & percussion presets??? PLEASE!! somebody let me know.. this is driving me crazy cuz i dont know if theres something wrong or if im just paranoid…thanx!!
This could be related to the Keyboard Priority setting for the presests. There are three modes: Low Note (i.e. while holding one note only lower struck notes will sound), High Note (opposite of low note), Last Note (either or). The Keyboard Priority can be found and set under Master Mode.
Since I don’t have an LP in front of me I can’t say whether this is saved per preset or as a global. If it is saved per preset than this could be the issue otherwise i’m stumped. I hope this helps!
Oops…
I do believe this is a global setting so no solution.
However, I’m almost certain that the issue has to do with Trigger Mode (also set under Master mode and a global setting). This makes sense because of the way the envelopes are set for percussive sounds and the way the settings of Trigger Mode affect the envelopes.
Try the different Trigger modes and see what happens. Please let me know of the results. Best of luck!
thanx for your reply.. ill try different trigger modes tonite and let you know..thanx again!
thank you for your help! i had to adjust the trigger mode.. its good now ![]()
Great lionsroar!
There are a number of things the LP can do that can even be confusing to me! I’ve calibrated hundreds of LP’s and I still find new sounds (and always learn new things about analog synthesis) when testing. It’s such a great little Mono… ahh… little phatty! ![]()
Enjoy! ![]()
Remember, too, that the note priority function of the LP has a bug in it, so the note priority will act differently depending on what octave you have set the synth for. This was driving me nuts when I first got my LP as it always behaved differently depending on the patch. As it turned out, it wasn’t the patch that made the difference so much as the octave setting that was saved on the patch (thanks RL).
There is a new version of the software available from Moog that is supposed to take care of this problem. Amos made it available on the forum as a Christmas present, and it is now on the Moog home page. I have yet to install it, as I am waiting for them to release the complete new LP software that has some of the new items that appear in the Studio version. I am looking forward to the Auto Tune function. I don’t know why, because I don’t have trouble keeping the LP in tune… I guess it is easy to get spoiled. ![]()
