Any Piano Bar users here?

I recently bought a Moog Piano Bar online from a Guitar Center store in another part of the country. I came to find out from the store (after the purchase) that it was left behind by someone who never came back to claim it. So GC wanted to dispose of it, and sold it without knowing its condition.

The good news is that it seems to be working well (for the most part) and GC is working with me to do any repairs the unit may require and replace any parts that Moog might still have.

The issue I’m currently having is with the pedal sensor.

When I first inspected the unit at my local GC store which received the shipment, I discovered was that the pedal sensor jack on the back of the control module had come loose. I’ve had it repaired (resoldered to the circuit board inside the module), and the cost of repair is being reimbursed by GC.

When I plug in the pedal sensor and place it under the pedals, it seems to have no effect. Since I have no idea from the illustration in the PB user manual whether the pedal sensor I have is complete, and there’s no description of its mechanical functionality, I’d love to communicate with another owner to help me verify its operation.

If the pedal sensor needs replacing, Moog Music may be able to help me. Again, GC would reimburse me the cost of replacement.

Thanks.

The pedal sensor that came with this unit does look like the illustration in the PB manual (which is pretty nondescript, just a molded piece of plastic with two holes and a USB jack). Not having a clear photo of a pedal sensor to reference, it’s hard to verify that my pedal sensor is completely intact. I have suspicions about that because of its appearance.

Is there any visual way to verify its operation, other than the blinking MIDI OUT light on the Control Module (which is NOT blinking)?

I still have one I used for a while. Have a grand with midi added. Positioning the damper is even more finicky than the bar itself. Try repositioning it, had to use a thin block of wood under mine to get it to work. Would send you a picture of mine if I could figure out how to do it.
