My best guess is ‘in the coming weeks’ for a bug fix release, then over the coming months for new major features. There was recent feedback from Moog about Animoog development, last time they chimed in was this week (in a Theremin forum post). I publish minor Animoog-related news on Twitter (@animooglove) and major ones on animoog.org directly.
Timing doesn’t really matter to me. What matters from my point of view is that Moog is now spending more resources and love towards Animoog
Nice to know that Animoog is finally getting an update!
I’m on iPad 2, using iOS 8.3 with a clean install of Animoog. Everything was OK until the update, but I’ve since had a few crashes that I just can’t attribute to the usual culprits (too many background apps, etc…) not sure if this is fixable with some kind of stability update, would be very nice if it was fixed
I also could not restore the BASE Pack (yes, that one ) from the in-app store. Previously I could. Don’t care much about the presets, but there were some very usable timbres in there, would love to see that fixed too, please.
The wait is soon over! Earlier this week, we’ve submitted Animoog v2.2.4 to the iTunes store … as soon as Apple approves it, the update will be available for everyone.
Thanks again for your patience!

Well, this is a truly great update, but I still can’t restore the BASE Pack that I purchased (even if it was a joke, I made good use of those timbres and want to use the presets I programmed with them).
Yeah, that’s true for the other Moog expansion packs that were never available in their in-app store, such as Halloween, BASE and the MVT packs, which are from Moog but don’t seem to be accessible anywhere anymore… Geert or anyone else at Moog, can anything be done about access to those?
The BASE pack was sold through the in-app store and had both presets and timbres. The presets are a joke (literally), but the timbres are quite usable. The other packs you mention were indeed free preset packs downloaded from Moog’s website and added manually through the iTunes file manager. Until recently it was possible to restore the BASE pack via Animoog.
I just sent a message to Moog developers regarding the absence of the BASE expansion pack from Animoog’s in-app store. We’ll see if that’s something they can fix in a future release. Personally, I don’t understand why the Movement and Halloween packs are not available from the in-app store too.
I’m rather optimistic, Moog appears to take Animoog development very seriously now and that’s great! Cheers – Alex / Satri
If only I had the BASE pack timbres in backup, I would just load them via iExplorer or iFunbox, but I don’t, and since I did pay for it on the in-app store, it’s only reasonable to expect I shouldn’t have to back them up.
Both the Halloween and Movement were free downloads from the Moog website and had no timbres. Movement was a commemorative Detroit Techno pack released to coincide with the Movement Festival of that year. The Halloween pack was a thematic preset pack, with no timbres either. I can see why neither of these is on the in-app store. These two I do remember backing up, but at some point lost interest and deleted both files. I do hope Moog restores all of them in some way.
I have the BASE pack timbres/presets as well as Halloween from backups I made. Haven’t been able to use them for a while until Animoog 2.2.4 was recently released. Hopefully, all of you that got these packs in the past (but lost them) can get them back again.
I believe that the Halloween pack did have timbres…at I least I have them in my backup. There are 21 of them in my backup beginning with AmpModCpix.wav and ending with VocoderSwp.wav.
EDIT: Looking through all of my timbres, seems as if the timbres in my Halloween backup are also included in the default Animoog timbres as well…so no, the Halloween pack did NOT include it’s own timbres as nuno mentioned.
