The Animoog is a great app and it runs well on the new iPad. I just want to connect it up to an old Yamaha PSR-175 keyboard that my son has so that he can explore synthesised music. I have an M-Audio MIDISport Uno to connect it.
I am completely confused though since I am no expert on MIDI. I hear about CoreMIDI from Apple. Apple say their Camera Connector Kit isn’t supported for connecting to MIDI devices. I’ve read about iRIG but not sure whether that is compatible with Animoog since the AniMoog manual doesn’t specify supported MIDI devices or connections. I’ve seen a YouTube video which shows the MIDISport being connected to an iPad but I don’t know which one or which iOS version.
Can anyone help me out of my confusion? Ideally I’d like to know what MIDI interface I can use (hopefully the MIDISport), what connector I need (I’d like to keep things cheap if possible because my wallet is the same size as my musical prowess (small!)), and whether Moog or Apple support any of the connections that people use.
