Animoog / io dock / MPK 25 / Pro tools

Hey guys

It’s all in the title. I can’t get any sound by pluging the io dock to the MPK 25.

The question is : how to control animoog with the mpk, and record into pro tools ?

All the best
Richard

Don’t have either of these but maybe MIDIBridge?

  • Does your MPK 25 have a power source? If it’s not plugged into a powered USB port or have a separate power source, it won’t function, regardless of the MIDI DIN cable connections.

  • When your iPad is docked, do you hear Animoog audio when using the app touch screen keyboard? If not, have you confirmed power, audio connections, volume level settings, etc. on the iO Dock?

  • Are you running the latest firmware on the iO Dock?

  • Have you selected the iO Dock MIDI IN as your MIDI input in the Animoog settings?

  • Do you have other iPad sound apps that function as expected when docked?

Realize these are basic questions, but it’s not unheard of to get tripped-up by the simplest things sometimes!

FWIW, I use the iO Dock with my iPad and Animoog, Alchemy Mobile, and several other apps, over USB and MIDI DIN, and it seems to be working fine.

For recording MIDI tracks, Pro Tools should see the iO Dock MIDI USB connection just like any other midi port.
That will be your MIDI track destination; the iO Dock will then route that to your active compatible app.

To capture audio, you’ll have to use the Audio OUT ports on the iO Dock and route that into your audio interface on your computer.
(Pretty sure audio-over-USB is not supported).
