hey guys maybe you can help me out.
i’m currently looking for an analog style sequencer for my voyager,
weather it be an actual analog cv/trig or a decent midi emulation.
i’m just starting out with sequencing. i’ve seen demos and specs for the frostwave fat controller, and thought that it looked cool but it might be kinda limited.
i really wouldn’t even care if it was a vst i could drive with cubase as long as there wasn’t any latency/stairstepping issues.
also maybe a standalone or software based arpeggiator,
my thought would be to turn the local control off on the voyager .having midi out enabled then feed that to the arpeggiator .and then back out to the voyager midi in to drive the synth. is this possible?
But I use a Manikin Schrittmacher for my sequences. But if you are only using a single synth, this would not make sense that much in terms of investment needed.
This is the only sequencer I have found so far that combines both MIDI and CV with rotary encoders and per-step pitch display. Apparently the Doepfer MAQ is difficult to dial in exact pitches, where the SignalArts displays the pitch of each step.
From what I understand you can choose from 50 temperaments and force any note. I’m sure microtonal stuff is not a problem.
I called BigCityMusic yesterday and was told a new batch should be arriving soon with a new firmware update. If you have any interest at all I would call the guy in Ontario. He’s the designer and can answer any question you have.
I would have scored one by now but I kinda got sidetracked back into electric guitar goodies.
Never could stay focused on one thing for too long…
For what it’s worth, the P3 from Sequetix is a cracking little sequencer. http://www.sequentix.com/
It’s midi, but 8 tracks and does a LOT of stuff for the money!
thanks for the suggestions,
based on my budget,i will probably settle for the frostwave fat controller.
i’ve also been looking at the program reaktor5. looks like it could be promising.
as for the arpeggiator , i’m looking at the Kenton DCB to MIDI converter for my juno-60 then use that to drive the voyager. hopefully it will all sync up properly.
anyone have any experience with reaktor5 driving the voyager?
