“This is a used Moog Rogue synth that has been in storage for a few years. Because I don’t have the power supply for it, I cannot test it”

I’ve read guides that warn against trusting someone who claims to not be able to test a synth they have listed on ebay.

“Some of the knobs on the sliders are bent to the side, but this does not effect their operation”

I’m especially wary of users who claim that defects do not affect its operation when they just said they can’t test the unit.

And of course 23 bids later … it sold for $366. Go figure.

i see ALOT of those kind of auctions, its scary. i wounder if people go in thinking theyre going to get a good deal, or as kind of a shot in the dark restoration project?

I was going to bid on a CR-78 for $199, I figured if it didn’t work I could use it for spare parts so I asked “Does eveything inside seem to be intact? Any missing guts?” He opened it up and said “Oh! The fuse is blown! Thanks for asking.” Damn. I guess I didn’t need two CR-78’s anyway.

the buyer is prolly planning on putting some time/money into the piece. but yes the seller is a loser.
