What is a good amp for the Moog MG-1..I need an amp for concerts and live shows…My guitar players and bass players use half stacks..so i need something that will be heard but still give a great quality of sound.
A $3000.00 Soldano SLO 100 sound great with a $125.00 RADIO SHACK synth.
Get a Soldano.
Barbetta 31C. My buddy has one of these and it sounds way better for synths & keyboards than most “keyboard amps” made today. Loud and clean.
I’m glad you added the “.00” … god forbid we mistake you sarcasm…
i would say that swr is okay but its a little pricey with the ampeg. both are great at being acoustic amps for keyboards and for synths. go for gallien krueger
by the way gallien is cheap when it comes to $$
-you get great sound
-easy control, boosts, and eq
-not noisy like a soldano or pricey
-gk combos are fairly priced, though you can pair it with any cabinet you want
-gk heads are really light
-if there’s a problem gk always has customer service ready to answer questions or repairs
-but if you’re into tube amps, swr or ampeg (though pricey)
all amps can produce mid and treble eq- that’s y u should go for a bass amp to get the lows you need when you wanna make a moog-rumble statement
by they way if you’re looking into roland- i personally think they’re ok but i dont like messing around too much with all the knobs (whether it be stereo knobs/channels/reverb/shape) but if u like roland already it’s cool. i just dont like getting stuck with 1 speaker. i like getting a dependable amp and buying a cabinet with speakers i think are to my liking
for gigging i have an swr900 bass head amp and 6x10 ampeg cab
i play the moog and bass if you’re wondering haha
8’s are good for high end
10 is good for high and mid sounds…
…if u want low end u’ll need at least 4-8 10" speakers
15’s have highs not not much clarity, mids and lows- u’ll definately get a rumble with one
18’s.. dont go there… unless you’re playing in a huge venue, if you’re pairing it with 10’s or 15’s and use this only if u don’t care about slow response.. LOTS OF LOW END though.. man make that moog shake a person’s heart..
hope this was helpful… go for the gallien 400rb3 or 700 or 1001rb if u want these should be enought to balance with your guitar and bass player.
I have a few amps but will most likely use the Yorkville Bass amp and my Vox Tonelab to route my Source through.
Why don’t you just plug right in to the PA?
Better frequency response and it won’t color the sound like an amp will.
That’s what I do, at least. I use a small mixer with an effects loop, and then all that goes straight into the main board.
that’s the way I will be going next fall for sure, and keep the amp at home for practice.
I’m using a Leslie 3300 and it sounds fantastic!
