Ableton Push not triggering Sub Phatty correctly

Hey guys,

I’m using my Ableton Push to play my Sub Phatty synth, but it double triggers almost every note. It seems that Push sends out midi on different channels, 1 channel per vertical row of pads. When I select just 1 channel (so 1 row of pads), everything works fine.

It looks like the trouble comes from some extra MIDI data that is sent over channel 1, but I don’t know how to stop this data from entering the LP. Anyone experience this as well?

Thanks for sharing,

Hans

I already fixed it guys, I had tried turning off aftertouch on the sub phatty, but apparently it neede a reboot to put that into action…! So with aftertouch off on the SP, Push works like a charm!

I had this problem at first, but changing the channel MIDI input to “Push” rather than “All Ins” fixed it. Plus it means you don’t lose after touch.

Yes but, if you do that, you can’t tweak parameters on the SubP Hardware if you work in local mode off.

Ahh, good point. I’ve never played in on Push at the same time as tweaking on the SubP. I always tweak after due to where the two devices are situated.

I’ll bear the aftertouch workaround in mind if I ever want to play Push and tweak at the same time.

How do you turn off the aftertouch? I too want to use my SP with Push but the aftertouch is really messing up the sound.

Fixed it. Turned off aftertouch.
