a big thanks to everyone, best synth forum I know

Just wanted to drop a line to everyone here and say thanks for the sense of community that you all bring to this forum. I have recently been seeking help on some VA topics, so I’ve been to a few other forums and posted my questions. Plenty of people have viewed them, but no one has responded at all (I realize that maybe no one knows, but still). This experience has made me appreciate the Moog forum even more. So, thanks everyone. much love

Yes, this is a nice community we have here. Thanks for sharing your experience!

GROUP HUG!

(OK OK that’s long enough)

Indeed. This is a dynamic place ! There are many active, knowledgeable and generous people here ready to share it and to help out. You can also exchange tips and ideas, express opinions, and contribute. So, on their behalf and mine, you are most welcome.

Perhaps the smartest and most generous people come to Moog?
There’s also a respect factor here that can be missing with other forums.

Hey,I’m a negative creep and I use this forum all the time!

You weren’t negative or creepy this time tho. Try again.

You’d better ask unfiltered37 for that. He’s quite good at it! To the point of having an entire thread deleted by the moderators because of him… :unamused:

Sorry, I couldn’t hold that back. Shame shame shame on me! :smiling_imp:
I guess that would qualify me also as being negative and a creep …

I have to admit that when I read that thread in question,my jaw kept getting progressively closer to the ground with every comment.
I really couldn’t believe he unloaded on you like that.I just think everything would be a lot better if you would send me your model D,I’ll give you my address.

But seriously, have you seen that beat up Mini Moog on ebay?I swear if I had the dough,I,d buy her in a second.Strange coloured switches, kind of greenish. If I wasn’t so scatter-brained,I would have included the item number,or,maybe even STICK TO THE SUBJECT!!-sorry folks.

I was negative when I got into a debate about the definition of “polyphony”- I maintain it implies more than two.o.k. I’ll shut up.

Hahaha!

Ok, I’ll send it to you in exchange for $5000.

I wonder how much the “D’s” will be worth in ten years,it makes me shudder to think.I know,I know, that has already been discussed.

It depends on how long this analog revival goes on for. Only a few years ago I was getting into arguments over analog vs VA…now, it seems, everyone I was arguing with are jumping on the analog bandwagon. In the 80’s, you could pick up a D for less than $300, or so I’ve heard tell. The DX 7 was taking over. Now, we’ve come full circle…in ten years, who knows what the fad will be?

The master of reverse psychology.

Interesting topic, has it been discussed enough? I have had my lows and highs on the matter, but ever since one day in particular… how can I put it ? …

I live on the third floor of an apt building and I have a fire escape plan involving a good strong rope, the two balconies below and my D strapped on my back.

I don’t believe I’ve seen a lot of talk here about how long this renaissance of analog will last…after all, it’s just getting started, and it began with the Korg Monotron and Tom Oberheim re-releasing the SEM. All good things come to an end, as we’ve seen before. Will the digital developers be forced to start making 32 or 64 bit resolution, instead of the 24 bit that has been around for the past 15 years or so? Will people start looking for a higher standard of digital, after playing around with analog hardware? So much remains to be seen…who knows? My guess is in ten years, people will be unloading their Voyagers for $500. But, I know nahsink.

Yamaha reissues the DX-7, thousands unload their analogs at cut market prices

That reminds me, I have a mint DX-100 to ditch.. any takers ?

Still have my original DX 7 I bought new in 1986  . Would occasionally MIDI it to the Memorymoog plus for some great sounding leads.

This is one of the better forums on line, everyone gets along pretty well and I think there is a good sense of community.
