Just a thought…
I was wondering about the tracking pot in the 901b oscillator.
When setting the tracking (potentiometer) of 901b oscillators, the service manual says to determine which oscillator is “the lowest” and then track the other(s) in the bank to it. Would there be a ‘neutral’ setting for this ‘master’ oscillators tracking pot… as it occurs to me that this osc itself could have been set to track another oscillator sometime earlier..!?
Is there a ‘default’ setting - say midway - that it should be set to before proceeding setting the others? I don’t understand the instruction to select “the lowest” as it’s tracking setting will also have an overall impact on the calibration..?
Dunno if my question makes sense or if I explained it well enough… but it’s something that has been on my mind.
Cheers,
TOM
