Does anyone have a 3 tier keyboard stand? Im looking consolidate my studio a bit, and this seems like the best route. I have a Voyager, LP, and a 49 key controller. I saw this one, and it seems to be the only option out there that I can find… http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/AFrame3/ But the reviews basically say dont buy it. Anyone have experience with this one? Or should I go down the path of making my own?
I have a Quiklok QL-623 3 tier that holds my Korg Mono/Poly, Alesis Ion, and on top the very heavy Minimoog D. But I think I’ve reached its maximum capacity load, since it’s a bit wobbly.
I have a 3 tier for my 88 key Studiologics controller, my Opus 3 and Phatty at the top. It’s great but if you don’t have a large kbd on the bottom, it’s not really something I would recommend. Quik-lok makes a double braced X style stand that is 3-tier. Looks ok in the pictures but I think the one you mentioned is going to be more sturdy provided that it’s against a wall in a studio. You need to keep in mind that many of the keyboard standards that are around today expect a relatively narrow (not deep) footprint.
I have an “H” stand also and it’s ideal for Taurus beneath but it’s only 2 Tier. Keep in mind before you buy (especially if doing so off the internet) that your Voyager is going to be a problem because it a) is very deep and b) has a tilt up, so it might need to be on the top. If you put it on top you have to deal with the Phatty also having an angled panel and being in the shadow of the Voyager.
I’ll take a pic to illustrate my point if unclear; just let me know.
Yeah Stantastic is what I usually recommend. If you’re nuts like me you mount industrial strut all the way down your wall and use their tier kits on it…
