Curious if any of you using the 3.1 editor have these features work for you:
lfo types - there’s 6 listed, but they all sound like a sine wave. You can check the slopes by assigning them strongly to osc. or filter, and letting it sweep slowly.
osc. 2 only - you’re supposed to be able to assign the lfo to only affect osc,. 2, but you can turn osc. 2 volume down, leave osc. 1 turned up and still hear it affected. This would be useful for osc. sync sweeps.
DAW use - Is it working for you guys? I’ve got Cubase 5 on an older desktop with Vista.
The editor loaded without a GUI, but I recorded it from the hardware box and all the knob movements and everything worked fine.
I’ve also got Cubase LE AI on a laptop with Win10. On that one the editor’s gui came through, but turning knobs on the editor didn’t do anything to the unit. There’s some kind of communication problem there.
I’ve only tried it very briefly just to get an idea of where it’s at.
Also - and I’m pretty sure this is user error (I just got the Minitaur recently), sometimes it sounds like the vca is stuck open at a low level, with a gnarly grinding type noise. It will only stop if I switch presets.
I don’t want to sound like I’m ragging about stuff. This is a fantastic, but limited little unit. I love the sounds I’m getting from it.
Some of them are so powerful, they seem like they’d be most useful in a live setting, rather than trying to eq a bit off the low end for recording.
Gonna’ go play with it some more - ha ha.
