Hi all guys, i have just buy an used little phatty and i’m very happy…it sounds so great!
I have some doubts about 2 things: filter envelope and modulation.
-About the filter envelope, i don’t understand how it works…to me it seems quite different to others i’ve tried. A little example: 1 oscillator sound with cutoff to max and resonance and overload to 0, envelope amount to max, filter attack to about half, filter decay to 3/4, filter sustain level to 0…i don’t know why but this envelope doesen’t work, the filter doesen’t close to sustain level after decay time is elapsed…what i am missing?
-About modulation, there is a way to make negative modulation? For example, a negative variation on the filter cutoff?
The filter envelope generator sustain level will drop the cutoff frequency no lower than the setting of the initial cutoff frequency.
When you have the initial cutoff frequency fully open, the entire audio signal is being passed through the filter and the envelope generator
will have no effect. The lower you have the initial cutoff frequency set, the more you will hear the effect of the envelope generator.
Afaik, the envelopes are not bi-polar.
Yes, as Sir Nose pointed out, the filter envelope amount function has a dedicated control that is bi-polar. When the envelope is assigned
through a mod bus, its polarity is only positive. Hope you’ve downloaded a manual if the seller didn’t include one.
thanks you for your reply! So i think i can’t use modwheel to close the filter, but only for open it…is this right?
About the filter envelope, i don’t understand the relation between sustain level and cutoff level…someone could explain me? maybe with a % value if is possible
thanks again
