Make sure it powers on, makes sound, all knobs and buttons function, can navigate the menu, MIDI works, no broken keys… If you want to make really really sure, find a local synth repair guy to give it a look over. Usually they will have a flat fee of $50 or so to do this. Would be better to loose $50 than $500 for major repairs.
Knowing if it was sent to the factory for the memory upgrade would be nice. There was also a tribute factory upgrade to reduce noise or something, not totally sure. Might want to look it up so you can see how to test for the noise and hear if it bothers you.
The noise, IIRC, was in the envelopes. Take that FWIW.
Be warned for some new moog improvisations!
