I’ve noticed on Reverb/Ebay/Sweetwater used/etc that there are quite a few Moog One 16 voice boards selling for 5-6K USD. I can never imagine dumping mine. Is the synth too deep for some? Is there frustration with the management of firmware updates?
i think people spending this kind of money expect more in terms of stability and firmware support. i paid only slightly more for mine new compared to the prices you have listed. i also can’t imagine ever selling it.
i recently started using the one as a controller for itself. it’s a powerful feature, but now it freezes probably once per session, requiring a power cycle. i turned the synths off at the keyboard, midi out to a midihub, then send midi back to the one. that’s super flexible obviously, so yay for the feature, but boo for so many bugs.
In the US, we’re coming up on “tax time” where personal income tax payments are due. It’s typical to see more used musical equipment for sale and “priced to move” between January and mid April each year.
I just bought mine used for 7500 euros in France. What a joy this synth is! I hope I never have to sell it!
