Re: Do I need an adaptor for a vintage 100v effect unit?

Congrats on the DC-50. I was lucky to get a UK one a number of years ago for £60, so have no power issues as it's a UK version. It is quite a nuts box. One thing I haven't done is open it up an see if there's any preset pots worth tweaking. You can get a mad regen effect from the Hall setting withou...

Re: QSC KW Series And The T-3

I am toying with the idea of using a Yamaha DSR115 for live use. Anyone used these?

Re: Polymoog Keyboard: A Plea For More Respect

Also a fan here (although I don't have one). Really, the Polymoog is the soundtrack to my youth: Gary Numan's The Pleasure Principle is Polymoog and Minimoog heaven. Clever man using preset No.1 and not going past that! Using the direct out was also a key factor that many miss when trying to g...

Re: OPUS 3 purchased new in 1981. Now selling, but ISSUES

Before selling I would take a look at that foam - that stuff becomes the black goo of death after 30 years and needs removing. You may find it has found its way into all sorts of sliders. I ended up replacing all my sliders as there many with goo issues. Pots and switches should be reasonably OK, al...

Gary Numan's The Pleasure Principle is mostly Minimoog & Polymoog. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50U1zFHoH30 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpBUmS5em0w http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akLKrd7zlS0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MxYWveSJS8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wea8ZQ0II4g http://www.you...

MC has stated before (only recently in fact) that the Taurus 3 envelopes are digital.

Re: Taurus 3 100-240V 50/60Hz

No adapters required. The Taurus is universal in every sense of the word but definitely in its power supply. Just grab an IEC power lead with whatever plug you have for your country at the other end and away you go.

I am in the UK and use no adapters just to prove my point.

If you're ever in Holland check out the Fokker microtonal organ: http://www.huygens-fokker.org/instrumenten/images/bam1_000.jpg http://www.huygens-fokker.org/instrumenten/images/bam3_000.jpg http://www.huygens-fokker.org/instrumenten/images/bam5_000.jpg Now that requires even more dexterity than the...

Re: Biggest Pipe Organ in the World (7 manuals)...

I love some of those modern ones - that one in Madison is a work of art in its own right.

I have sponsored the restoration of a 4' pipe in this organ near me:

Full restoration and concerts by next year. :D

Re: Cheap Taurus 3

I saw a set go, with flightcase, for around £900 a couple of years ago, which is about the same as that price, but cheap for the UK. If I didn't already have some I would definitely have jumped on that - almost worth getting for a spare. I can't see them going much cheaper now though. Yeah, I bought...

Re: Which Moog?

It probably is sponsorship, but coming from a TV background myself, I wonder if it wasn't a directorial decision. Everyone is co-ordinated in some sort of grey clothing and even the congas are grey. I wonder if they just wanted a very stark look with no text ruining the shots.
