I don't blame them for wanting to be careful and utililize their pre-existing designs for as much as possible. Roland, Korg, and Yamaha are guilty of the same thing. Um, yeah. There is no functional difference between them. The Performer, Electric Blue, and Select Series are all the same synth inside.

The MURF is made up of BP filters, except I believe the lowest is a HP and the highest is a LP. And, none of the filters have individual cut-off levels, though they each have their own volume level.

Okay, so I guess the answer to that would be no.

For my own edification, could one of the MURFs (standard, bass, and/or MIDI) be used as a formant filter for this patch?
