Comparing the Subsequent 37 to the Minitaur
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4jSRevZqVw
My 'not so scientific' comparison between the lovely Subsequent 37 and the (also) lovely Minitaur.
I was really curious how they would compare at the 'same' settings (not exactly, that is close to impossible)
Let me know what you think

Ok.
In that case I hope somebody else can jump in.
I know the editor can cause problems (I had that too) but it looks like your case is different.

Re: The editor and subsequent are not synchronized. Click ok to get all presets from the hardware
It is hard to pinpoint this from a distance without seeing what is happening. All I can say is that my issue was resolved by unplugging all other USB midi hardware to find out that my mixer interface was the 'problem' (I can't hook up both). Assuming you are on Windows, there are many problems on a ...

Re: Sub37 in Duo mode -> Pattern SEQ != REC ?
There will be a reason behind it.
Because they made it that way.
But I have no clue.

Re: The editor and subsequent are not synchronized. Click ok to get all presets from the hardware
In my case it was probably caused by one of my controllers. I unplugged them all and had no issues ever since. Tried them 1 by one and it turned out my mixer board was most likely the issue (probably because of the constant midi communication that it requires to get levels, time code etc. etc. ) so ...

Ok (always hard to guess ones experience from the little info you get )
Not sure if a 'reset' will help?

Re: Sub 37 - can't seem to engage sequencer 'seq'|'rec' at all
Lets first investigate further before jumping into that conclusion :) Did you engage the tempo sync knob? If that is the case, the arp won't work unless it receives a clock. If you disable sync, you need to turn the tempo knob once to get the internal clock going again. Next check what happens if yo...

Re: Subsequent 25 Midi Problem (Changing random presets)
Check the manual for incoming midi messages. On the Subsequent 37 you have the option to listen to incoming midi messages and select which inputs you want (USB / DIN) Other than that you have to revert back to the drum machine to set it to send program changes etc. Nothing on the subsequent that I k...

Re: Sub Phatty / External Controller
I use my DAW and the Roland MC 707 to control my S37, but nothing fancy here.
You can use any hardware sequencer that can send midi messages to do this.
Arturia Keystep is a nice option.
The korg sq 64 should be able to do this.
And I'm sure there are many hardware sequencers that can.
