If adding just a bit of EQ could change the sound of one synth into the sound of another, we all would have saved a lot of money by doing so.

I own (nearly, as I got an early Waldorf Quantum) four of the synths in this comparison. And I think this chart is near to my experience. But I think the 3rd Wave got a special unique character, once you don't judge it as just a VA synth. And I like its filter character.

I just checked my account and had no problems to log-in.

Even if the cutoff is all the way down, the filter envelope is able to open it, if the envelope amount is high enough. And when the sustain is not zero, it will stay open. This is normal. As MIDI clock are send like 24 clock ticks per quarter note, you would note be able to see each clock signal with the human eye, unless you got down to slow BPM rates like 20 or less. This would work, but only for monophonic played (= one note at a time) VST instruments.

Adjusting VCA BALANCE trimpot?

These could be the cause. There might be others. But I am not a technician.

The power to the knobs is not stable and clean. And therefor the pot scanning gives random values around the set value.

There are some Voyagers out there in the fields with a different brand of keybed.

Have you checked, if you do send MIDI CC #7 to the Moog?
You may use a computer with a MIDi monitor software to check this.
Or try another synth to receive this from the Akai.
And there is just one MIDI cable going from the Akai DIN MIDI output to the Moog DIN MIDI input?
