Re: Just bought a Model D on eBay...

Its always great when we can turn an old relic back into a beautiful fully functional and expressive musical instrument! Does anyone know where I could get a soft case for my Minimoog Model D like that pictured above?

Re: crackling noise in minimoog after 15 minutes

My 1973 Minimoog occasionally has some noises that stem from the rotary octave and waveform switches. Gently exercising these especially if there are some that you do not change often may help. The rocker switches on my current Minimoog are not problematic but they were an issue on a 1975 Minimoog I...

Re: WNAMM2016: Korg Minilogue

I just played the Minilogue for an hour and I am rather impressed with the sound, features, and layout at its price point. It is not a "players synth" but is going to be really useful for some analog sound sculpting in home studios, for portable live use, and for analog synthesis instructi...

Re: High pass filter

Second question first. I don't use a sub for my PA because I am using a high end sub with my quality studio monitors. My studio monitor system gives me full 20 - 20,000 response, while my PA speakers are more rugged and more appropriate for jamming with friends and synthesis experimentation. PA subs...

Re: High pass filter

Ok lets try a different angle on this problem. I am going to assume that you were playing your Moog 37 very very loudly through a powered PA speaker each time you burned one out. These portable PA speakers can only handle so much really loud low bass before they blow. I believe you need to distribut...

Re: High pass filter

Perhaps we could give you more advice here if you provide more information about the EV Speaker and your situation - such as the EV model #, what type of amplification powers it, whether you play very loudly to be heard above several guitars and drums during your live sets, if the bass notes that yo...

Re: High pass filter

Interestingly I was just suggesting a highpass filter last weekend to protect a club's subwoofers by filtering out audio under 30 hz. With your full range EV PA speakers the highpass filter may need to be set a little higher especially if you play loudly. Ported speaker systems are more efficient in...

Re: Rush 2112

Thanks MC & thealien666for your responses. My next more difficult task is to figure out how to reproduce something similar to this live. Because of limited space onstage I hope to only use my 1973 Minimoog with up to 3 delays (2 analog & 1 digital) and possibly a bit of assistance from a Pro...

Rush 2112

Who here has figured out how to play the intro to Rush's 2112. It sounds to me like there were 2 Minimoog filters involved. Its likely that a Minimoog was used to filter the track it had already recorded by sending it through the Mini's aux input and then recording the result on another track. Other...

Re: MiniMoog Help - OSC 1

Especially with a vintage Minimoog its often the simple things that need to be checked first. The 2 rotary switches and on/off switch associated with the reluctant oscillator need to be gently worked back and forth, and potentially the 2 connectors in the wiring harness under the mod wheels need to ...

Re: Multimoog vs. Minimoog Model D

As alluded to by others in this revived thread the Minimoog Model D is not special because of its immense feature set (although some of its options like an audio frequency keyboard tracking LFO is unusual and very useful) but because of the absolutely amazing sounds it is capable of within its limit...

Re: Help Please - Need Minimoog Rotary Switch!

Thanks noddyspuncture for your kind offer! I am located in the New York City area. Is the part that clicks the rotary switch into each position easy to fix? Does the clicker clean the contacts or are they self cleaning without the clicker in place? I was hoping to simply acquire a few extra rotary s...

Help Please - Need Minimoog Rotary Switch!

Hi! Does anyone have an extra original 6 position rotary switch for my Minimoog Model D? On my 1973 Minimoog the rotary waveform switch for the 3rd oscillator waveforms no longer clicks into its selected positions and I am concerned that it will fail completely. Any info on how to source a good used...
