 thanks for taking the time to listen. you are right, it takes patience for all the layering - patience, simplicity, effort, and fun. i guess these songs reflect what a voyager sounds like straight out of the box, using basic sequencing and playing technique. the voyager allows you to go way b...

it's all pure voyager, one track layered on top of another.
(except the reverb and delay effects which are non-moog effects).
nothing else added.

voyager sounds - moognase

hello,

i made some new songs with my voyager which you can listen to for free at

http://www.moognase.com

some of them are peaceful and funny, others are spacey and minimal.

no touchscreens were harmed in the making of these songs.

have fun!

single-oscillator synthesizer

how neat would it be if moog would make a 1-osc synth with a filter and a noise generator plus a little sequencer included. it could be used as a simple sequencer and a drum-box at the same time. that would be fun. it could have a ribbon controller thingy for expression (perhaps lickable) but hopefu...

I personnaly hate other aspects of it, such as the LCD screen do you find it hard to read or is it just because of the fact that it's there and makes it non-vintagey? to me, the little screeny on the little phatty looks like a digital watchy, which i'd classify under "geeky" but it doesn'...

it would have been cooler to have a ribbon controller under the keyboard. but no, it had to be right there where most people have their noses or tongue poking out.

This thread could go downhill very quickly i am experimenting with techniques that allow for using the touchscreen effectively. my right hand plays a melody, my left hand modulates the sound with the wheels, and either my nose or tongue plays the touchscreen. it seems the most ergonomical way to go...

licking the touchscreen

has anyone tried this? i did, and i have to say, the touchscreen tastes yucky. but oddly, the method is quite expressive. i wish there was some way to make it taste better. there should be stickers with different flavors. bagel supreme, belgian waffle, or perhaps fudge supreme. i think you could sla...

Phatty vs Prodigy vs Rogue

Hi

How does the Little Phatty compare to the other 2-osc Synthesizers (such as the Rogue and the Prodigy)?

I used to own a Rogue and loved its low bass sounds and also the filter gargle it could do. Can the Phatty also do that trig-trick whereby it goes bing-bing-bing-bing etc?

Hello Hal_McGee, i kind of feel the same, having owned a rogue before selling it to buy a voyager. i loved the rogue to bits and absolutely adored the simplicity and unique sound it had. the voyager sounds exceedingly good in all registers. its sound is full of sweetness and richness. i did manage t...

drones are a good thing. somehow the moogerfoogers remind me of clogs. are they shoes? are they sandals? are they leftovers from a lumberjack party? what are they? with moogerfoogers, you kind of think: is it for drones? for guitars? or for synths? i still don't really understand what this new freqb...

it would be like a funny-looking modular synth system. cool!

maybe they could make a rackofooger rack range that would allow for modular systems of different sizes.

sounds good.

although i like my voyager, i am considering getting an lp instead because of this.

i kind of got used to the jumping around but i sometimes don't feel like playing because of it. it demands too much caution and preparation!
