Re: Voyager's LFO ouptut voltage

You could put a rectifier on the output and make it go positive with the benefit of doubling clock rate.

Re: A modern polyphonic moog?

I HAD a polyphonic Moog. It wasn't what you all seem to wish it was. I am still suprised they tried it twice. One was horrible and the other was merely problematic. And EVERYONE complained it didn't sound like a MiniMoog! If it would have been remotely stable, I MIGHT have kept it. I'll stick with g...

Re: MF104 : getting back those high frequencies

There are no CC's on ANY MF-104 or MF-104Z or any other non MIDI Moog delay. So if you do not have a MF-104M....

Re: osc 2 keyboard tracking

Calibrating (correctly) analog oscillators is not for the faint of heart without correct tools and service manuals. Just turning pots when you don't know what they do is a recipie for deep frustration. Maybe you SHOULD just sell it to someone who might appreciate the instrument. Or buy a NEW one wit...

Re: MF104 : getting back those high frequencies

BBD analog delays have to kill highs or the noise becomes objectionable. Nature of the beast and why people so embraced digital delays in the 80's.
you can always run the original dry signal in parallel with it high pass filtered to recover just high end frequencies.

Re: mf104z no delay out

What he said! I pulled the wood sides off, reseated the daughter board and put a piece of fish paper and some foam spacer to keep it seated and it has been fine now for years.

Did I buy junk?

Went to play my 14 year old Voyager last night. Turned it on and waited a bit for it to warm up and stabilize.
And the thing worked perfectly yet again.
Dang junk!

Glue the connector on. I've had mine come loose twice before I secured it with a dab of hot glue.

Re: Moog Voyager out of Tune

Are you talking tuning or scaling? If it is in tune at one note but they go out of tune with each other a few octaves apart, that is scaling. That will need calibration.

Re: Possible to get a classic 80' (FM?) bass sound?

There is a factory patch (34) 'Smooth Bite' that I use as a basis for KW and other sequence like bass parts. Try it and turn down the env amount to filter and lower the cutoff freq some to taste. You will find it a good starting point, I think. I also use it for Shriekback covers and of all things 2...

Re: Possible to get a classic 80' (FM?) bass sound?

Someone posted an FM video tutorial on here recently. By manipulating the range and waveforms, I was able to get some pretty good bass sounds. It is all up to your experimentation to get the sound you want. I've always gotten better basses from analog over my digital machines. I use the digital for ...

Re: Decision support: is the Voyager a reliable synthesizer?

I have a Signature Voyager. It has been upgraded to nearly the new spec. (Still need to do the aftertouch mod) It needs occasional maintenance and could use a trip to the factory every lustrum or so for a recalibration. I've got the latest OS and wish for a new one to meet my percieved needs, but it...

Those mods look like the filter glide mod. Shouldn't cause your symptoms.
