Re: digital and analog pedals

I pick depending on the sounds I can get from the pedal, not if it's analogue or digital. Some analogue pedals are better than some digital pedals and some digital pedals are better than some analogue pedals. Best to use both and not limit yourself. This is a new idea to me. When I first got into m...

digital and analog pedals

I dont want to start an argument but would like to hear peoples general opinions on digital vs analog pedals. Especially concerning sound quality vs the two. Would you prefer to send high quality instruments through digital or analog? Does one preserve more of the original tone better than another? ...

Re: My Next MOOG Move

I dont know about the poly. Like was said above there have been rumors and Moog IS working on something big but we dont know what it is. I wonder about the Subsequent 37. I've got the sub 37 and like the sound A LOT. I would not trade mine in for the subsequent nor would I add one to my repertoire u...

Re: EHX "Superego Plus" Video

I have really appreciated ALL of your videos over the last few year that I've been into synths. You have a gift for it and it is just music to my ears to hear everything you put out. I bought my first synth-- Sub 37 based of of an in depth review you put out. Thank you!! You used a digital delay in ...

Re: Listen to my band.

Finally got to listen! Sounds good, I think of European music from the '70s like Cluster, early Kraftwerk, maybe early Tangerine Dream. The recording doesn't sound bad, though I think the viola (violin?) could be louder. Thanks for listening and giving feedback!! I am so grateful. Our approach is p...

Re: Share your synthesizer music!

Here is a set from my band. We recorded the tuning so sorry about that. Our approach is total improvisation so we like to record from the very start.

Re: Live recording

No one in this band is in a hurry but ultimately we will certainly put out some tracks for sale so eventually the setup has to be good enough for that. We are using a room mic right now for just listening later and seeing what works and what does not. What we have noticed with this setup though is ...

Listen to my band.

Any synth you hear in this track is me. Model D and 2 Mother 32's. I only have dropbox so here is a link. I wouldn't mind peoples perspective on this. Our approach is total improvisation form start to finish. We never have anything planed out ahead of when we start. I dont know what the genre would ...

Re: Live recording

Sounds like a cool project! To me the big question is whether you are going to record multitrack so that you can adjust and edit things later, or mix on the fly and record to 2-track, in which case it's burned in there, you can't change it if one instrument is too loud, etc., you can only process t...

Re: Live recording

You might want to just mic the room and experiment with mic placement because it's going to be virtually impossible to keep the minimoog from bleeding onto the drum tracks. Believe it or not you can get some great mixes just with a small portable recorder and a couple of strategically placed mics. ...

Re: Live recording

Hey SubGuy ! I’m totally in the keep-it-simple approach. My advice: try to get the sound you want directly in the mixer. However, I would not exclude the possibility of processing the result to obtain something with the energy of the live: a bit of eq and compression is sometimes all that it needs....

Live recording

I am in a folkadelic jam band and I play bass on my Model D reissue in that band. Right now we just practice two times a week and have been for the last few years. We are not getting to a point where we want to start recording our sessions as some of them are good enough to share with people. We wan...

Analogue function

I have a number of Moog synthesizers and want to understand HOW an oscillator makes sound. I have done the regular google searches but nothing really gets into detail specifically about how the sound is produced. One article actually said "an oscillator is a little box that produces sound"...

if they could bring the prices down by simplifying manufacturing, but keep quality, I think it would be popular

Yes modules but I hope not eurorack.

Re: Moog Music Inc dragging their feet

Very sorry if it seemed I was criticizing your position personally. I recognize my position is the outlier totally. I just play Bass in a folk band on my model D and use all my other stuff for drones when we jam. That is not the typical use of a synth by any stretch....
