Re: Sub Phatty post-release firmware v1.1.0

OK, here is Sub Phatty firmware version 1.1.1: http://www.moogconnect.net/downloads/phatty/SubPhatty_v161_1_1_1.syx This version fixes the loud volume on startup (it is now the preset volume, or the real volume knob position, depending on the "use preset volume" global setting)... Also fi...

I already pay USPS Priority out of my own pocket.

In any event, price has been dropped down to $400 and I will not be going any lower.

Re: Sub Phatty post-release firmware v1.1.0

This sounds like a simple start-up bug; I am looking at it right now. Please try the v1.1.1 firmware update as soon as I post it, and let me know if you have the same volume issue on start-up or not. Oh, I most certainly will. Looking forward to the adjustments! I do hope you'll give some thought t...

Re: Is my Subphatty able to recreate Little Phatty sounds?

Those are great tips! I tried it today and it made a big difference in the way my sound was coming out. Definitely not a voyager or voyager-esque but it has its own sound which I'm starting to come to terms with. I believe this piece was designed for Dubbstep in mind. It seems to be its strongest f...

Re: Does the Sub Phatty have a softer side?

Most of the demos make it sound harsh and buzzy. Does it have a smoother, softer (Voyager-ish) side? It won't sound Voyager buttery smooth, but that is because they are two entirely different sound engines. Can it get Voyager-esque? Fairly close, I must say. Just be sure that you are working with t...

Re: Sub Phatty - Arpeggiator in Update?

Come to think of it, an Arpeggiator should be inevitable. I surmise the team is working on this due to the sound clip on the Sub Phatty page... Awesome Arp sound from percussive B3-esque sweeps to the Multi-Drive Awesomeness and all the range in between. What a badass synth. I wouldn't go as far as...

Re: Phatty's Arp-Retrigger when using MIDI clock

Would be a handsome feature to Moog's arpeggiators, but at present, disabling the retriggering of the arpeggiator is not possible. The only way to achieve this would be using an arpeggiating piece of soft/hardware that can. You could simply program the arpeggio into your DAW note-by-note using the d...

Re: Is my Subphatty able to recreate Little Phatty sounds?

What do you mean by more of a "true analog" sound exactly? I'm interested in the Sub Phatty as my first Moog synth as well so I'm interested to know what you mean by that since it seems like a red flag to me! The subphatty has very stable oscillators which give it almost a perfect/ digita...

Re: Arpeggiating the Sub Phatty (iPad solution)

I just tried it by removing the DIN cables from both the MIDI In and Out of the Sub Phatty and Local Control is indeed off. I think what I'm dealing with is a MIDI echo from my iConnect MIDI interface feeding back into the MIDI In of my Sub Phatty. This is relieving, albeit still a frustrating matte...

Re: Sub Phatty post-release firmware v1.1.0

I am experiencing a rather odd issue with the release firmware. Using the low C key for turning Local Control 'off' is not actually turning it off. I've tested this with MIDI connected and not and the sound engine of the Sub Phatty is still being triggered despite having turned 'off' Local Control. ...

Re: Arpeggiating the Sub Phatty (iPad solution)

What happens when you turn local MIDI off and just play the keyboard without the iPad attached? Do you hear a note? Correct. Even when the iPad is not attached, the keyboard a note to played by the Sub Phatty when Local Control is set to 'off'. If so, maybe there's a bug in the firmware. That's wha...
