Re: What mixers do you guys use?
mackie onyx 820i Do you use it with a DAW? How are the levels? I've heard different things from people about low levels while recording. I don't use it as a firewire interface, if that is what you mean. The analog mixer side of it is pretty much the same as the gen1 Onyx series, sounds great, flexi...

Re: Slim Phatty...I am So Angry!!!!
Amos has been talking about it being poly-ready from the get go, well before it was shipping.
What you are talking about is possible, and well documented on page 34 of the manual.

USB MIDI requires a computer to interface with.circusmusician wrote:Does it make any difference if you plug in a keyboard to the the SP thru the USB instead of midi? Im probably not going to be using pads or sliders, ive been told the SP is set up very well so that I probably wouldn't want to.

Actually, that is it. If you look harder you'll see it's just a mesh 1U rack plate directly below the 3U VX/CP rack.mahavishnu90125 wrote:Thanks for your reply, but that's not it. The one shown in the picture seems to have a shelf on the bottom part and some kind of metal netting.

Re: keyboard / MIDI controller for SP
Does anyone know of a midi keyboard that would be the same width as SP and otherwise minimalistic in design? I hope someone (maybe Moog?) would release a midi keyboard that would fit perfectly under slim phatty.. maybe even lock into the front of it somehow. Would make a great looking synth with ke...

Re: Mounting 'foogers
This is for OLF Audio, I know this original post is from 2009, but I just saw the picture of how you have racked the CP-251 on your Hosa desktop rack. Where did you get that particular rack that is holding the CP-251? I'm looking to get one exactly like it. I can't find it anywhere on the Moog webs...

Re: keyboard / MIDI controller for SP
Thanks for all the info, though now I have more questions, excuse my ignorance. All the keyboard controllers ive looked at have faders and pads, can I actually use these functions live with the SP? Thanks Colin Generally everything is CC Assignable on MIDI controllers, so yes is the answer in most ...

Re: keyboard / MIDI controller for SP
I just picked up a M-Audio Axiom49 MKII, Contrary to M-Audio's reputation for less than awesome build quality/bad keys, I am absolutely loving it and think it will be a great fit when my SP comes in.

Yes, modwheel commands work the same from other MIDI sources. It still controls the LFO amount.

Re: Moog Slim Phatty
if you mean getting the audio "merged" or mixed together, thats easy... there are a few ways you could do it... if you wanted you could put the audio out into the audio in's of each one, chaining the audio together and just using the last audio out at the end of the change... Or most like...

Re: External keyboards for Slim Phatty
Whichever kind of controller you get, be sure that it has a modwheel that can lock into a set value when you aren't touching it. Unless the Slim Phatty is different from the Little Phatty, there's no way to set a fixed/baseline amount of modulation without parking the mod wheel in a particular posi...
