Re: Minitaur knobs issue - e.g. Cut Off filter jumps open!

Does the Minitaur change the cutoff all by itself without anything connected?

Wow, that really does sound big! I can see the speaker cones tearing apart.

Re: Best entry level sequencer for Werkstatt ( school settin

The SQ1 doesn't drive the Werkstatt in an ideal way (the envelope is not triggered, so the sound is completely on or completely off).
The Volca Keys has a sequencer built in, although it is not a step sequencer like the SQ-1. The SQ-1 could drive a Volca via MIDI.

Re: Gig bag / road case for Slim Phatty

I believe Moog recommends their Theremin gig bag for the LP.

Re: Slim Phatty Knob Issues?

I had a different knob problem with my Slim and was able to arrange return for repair by calling Moog. Their email respoonse is reported to be slow, but I've had good luck just going direct on the phone.

Re: Werkstatt as 2nd oscillator for M32?

Yes, you'll definitely want to do the Werkstatt calibration procedure which starts on page 21 of the manual. It doesn't make a difference if you are just using the WS all by itself, but it is necessary if you plan to connect up an external 1V/oct control such as from the Mother 32.

Re: Glide circuit challenges

Due to a quirk of the TL072 (Google "TL072 phase inversion"), you may still have the problem with the lowest notes. You may need to use a different opamp for this purpose - ideally one specified for single supply use (no negative supply). LM324 is one that should work in this circuit, but ...

Re: Glide circuit challenges

TL072 is not a rail-to-rail opamp, so you won't get it to output that range of voltages with only a 5V supply. Try running it from the 9V rail.

Re: Looking for resistor replacement R17

The resistors in the Werkstatt are 0805 size. Sometimes you can fit a 1206 size chip in the same spot. You could buy some of each. However, since you seem to be new at this, I'm not sure that trying to do the fix yourself is a good idea. Try contacting Moog and see if they can cover this under warra...

Re: Mother-32 dead after brief 2 pin polarity inversion

What is the resistance of R51 supposed to be? The Mother seems to be based on the Werkstatt, and it has a 4.99R resistor inline with the 12V input that has burned out on people (like me) who have used incorrect power supplies.

Re: New Werstatt owner questions about mods

If you're taking requests, do you have any good ideas for what to do with the leftover OTA in the LM13700?
Your site has a lot of good information. Thank you for bringing it to our attention!

Re: New Werstatt owner questions about mods

If it's working for you, I'd say keep having fun! I will probably do the gate mod (the one you linked to - thanks! - or a different one), but only because the Korg SQ-1 doesn't work properly with the Werkstatt. Some mods you might want to try are on the werkstattworkshop page. Some of those are real...

Re: Temperature Compensation Questions

davemoog, my Werkstatt is in a room with pretty stable temperature, but I noticed that it stabilized pretty quickly (maybe just a few minutes?) and stayed there over time. However, it never had to deal with large room temperature fluctuations. Frequency was evaluated by comparison to a quartz oscill...

Re: Temperature Compensation Questions

I'm not sure how the Werkstatt oscillator works, but I've found it very stable.
Based on the similarities between the WS and Mother, I imagine they use the same basic oscillator.
