Re: Anyone try a GR-55?

I ended up getting a used VG-99. Tons better. A world of difference, definitely worth the extra cost.

Re: Splitting a CV signal

Yes, you can generally split CV, but a TRS plug won't do it, as the CV jacks are mono. Radio Shack sells a mono 1/4 male -> 2 mono 1/4 females, that should work. YMMV depending on what you plug into, should work fine. I've used passive multis a bunch, and not had issues. You can also build a multi, ...

Man, that Robot stuff is just so wrong. Ten years from now, how many of those units are still going
to be working?
Sigh.

Re: How was the action on your Moog Guitar when you got it?

Well, the action part of the unit is just a plain old guitar. Any good repairman
should be able to adjust the neck for you. And there is documentation on the pickup
positioning as well.

Re: MF101 Envelope Direction Change

If you still need the envelope follower, have you considered making a DYI inverter/mixer small enough for your pedalboard? From what tiny bit i know of enveloper followers reversing the sweep would probably entail stuffing an inverter circuit inside the 101, might be simpler to make an external box ...

I have not had such an experience - does the whistle happen on the OSC out also?

Re: Moogerfooger rolling off high-end of incoming signals

Wow. I tested with white noise, and the roll-off is very audible. I can also confirm that the Low Pass filter and the MURF don't have the roll off with mix == 0. This must be a design decision unique to the FreqBox. I can only guess that they cut the highs going in to improve the sync performance/tr...

Re: Under Two Grand???

I called up Moog and talked to nice sales person - - They 'B' part is cosmetic / finish issues only - and they will tell you about flaws in individual guitars if you want to order. - The price cut on the 'A' models is to keep dealers from being too mad about the 'B' price/sale. (also, i think the ec...

Re: more tunings!

not Phatty presets; just tuning scales. There are 32 slots for tuning scales in the Phatty; loading a tuning into a given slot will overwrite whatever tuning was in that slot previously. Hope this answers your question. edit: the v3 OS update for the Little Phatty, when it's ready, will not overwri...

Re: Experience with Moogerfooger's and looping pedals?

The Eventide Tide Factor is a great, great delay pedal, but the looper function is pretty basic, and the loops length is short. If you want great delay and live tweekage, get it. But if you want looping only, and especially if you want reversing or other loopy features, you would be better off spend...

Anyone try a GR-55?

I checked out the Roland GR-55 this week, and found out it will not work with the E1. - First symptom - the tuner section just goes crazy when you plug the E1 in. Lights up with what appear to be random pitches. Second, the GR-55 doesn't track the guitar at all. Just a total freakout when attempting...

Re: Pitch CV question

Yes, I discovered (painfully) that you cannot have the Phatty in Autotune mode when using the Pitch CV input.
It just whacks the tuning completely out. Set tuning to Off.

Re: Does SP track MIDI Pitch Bend Correctly?

Yup, if I drive it with pure CV using the Kenton, all is good - the Kenton has good scaling control. But, as you say, it would be nicer to use MIDI. Moog told me the issue is due to the re-use of the original circuit from old Moog days, apparently it was always non-linear, but pre-MIDI it wasn't a b...
