Re: Can a Sub 37 sound like this..?

I'm new to this, so be kind: Could the Minitaur used as a third (and fourth) osc, driven through midi, coming back on Audio IN of the Sub 37, to obtain that phasing? What should be configured midi-wize? Thanks, Greg Sounds like it could be worth a try! I think you just connect Sub37's midi output t...

Re: Can a Sub 37 sound like this..?

Here's an attempt from me. Not the best and both tries sound very similar to each other. The Sub37 could surely come alot closer to the tone of the Model D in the hands of a more skilled synthesist and perhaps some extra processing in the chain. My filter sweep is a little jerky too - I probably sho...

Re: Sub 37 vs Little Phatty: Sonics

When adding resonance, I also add overdrive to beef it up. It is characteristic of the Moog filter to lose bass with increasing resonance. The Overdrive adds girth! Very good advice again mmarsh100! The Multidrive does seem to magically replace quite a lot of the lower frequencies that are lost whe...

Wow! I can just imagine how cool that would be - A Sub37 with a couple of Slim37's racked up above it! Beautiful. :D

Re: Sub 37 feature suggestions - firmware updates

I would really like the play direction of the sequencer to include Backwards, Backwards PingPong and Random!

It is possible to do Forwards and Forwards PingPong with Inversions which is very cool but it would be great to have the same options as the ARP play modes apply to the sequencer also. :)

Re: Sub 37 Internal Clock Instability?

Thanks Chilam. You know what? Strangely it works with your procedure :D but it's pretty weird having to change another preset to start the MPC. Excellent, glad to hear it worked for you too! Yes, it is strange that a change of preset was needed - I had tried turning the sub37 and all other devices ...

Re: Sub 37 Internal Clock Instability?

OK, I managed to get it working in the end :D I was struggling for a while to get any midi data to show up anywhere from the 37 - even the lights that show activity on my midi interface (iConnectmidi4+) stayed unlit no matter what changes I made and no matter which connection I tried using (USB/DIN)...

Re: Sub 37 Internal Clock Instability?

hmm, I had a quick go but couldn't get it working yet either!? :? I couldn't see any clock signal from the Sub37 in the MPC's midi monitor at all. Infact I couldn't see any midi data being recieved except a couple of bend and modulation messages but even these only happened once and I couldn't get i...

Re: Sub 37 Internal Clock Instability?

Actually, I didn't bother trying in the end. Reason being because I need my MPC as the master in my rig since it can send both Midiclock and MTC simultaneously and I need MTC for slaving Cubase. I have managed before to slace the MPC to Cubase's midiclock before so it should work with the Sub37 too!...

Re: Sub 37 to send midi clock to all my other gear

Great taste sir - 2001 is my favourite movie of all time! It still amazes me how no other scifi has come close to its magnificence. I don't think I will be able to resist going modular for much longer - It just appeals on so many levels. New wonderful modules seem to be released on a daily basis and...

Re: Sub 37 Internal Clock Instability?

Indeed Moog are very attentive to user feedback, awesome team! From 6-7% to less than 0.2% is a huge improvement. Around 0.1% variance at 60-140 BPM sounds very tight indeed. I'm curious now if I shouldnt slave all my devices to the 37's clock - it sounds as though it might be tighter than my MPC100...

Re: Sub 37 to send midi clock to all my other gear

Im told the xa does sound good, but that was a prototype so who knows. Yeah, i'm interested to hear what it can do. Wasn't too struck by the little JD-Xi and I wish Roland would revise their "futuristic from an 80's perspective" aesthetic they seem to have adopted since the Aira stuff - j...

Re: Sub 37 to send midi clock to all my other gear

I hear you on the cables and essential accessories, little stingers, lol! My focus at the moment has been mainly logistic rather than musical tbh, just integrating the 37 and a Minibrute into my little setup. Before those two came along I was mostly ITB apart from an MPC. The last year or so I have ...
