Re: Human/robot barriers and a Hello
Just an update - I thought maybe it was my old computer that was making me have to prove my humanity and log in again (2 separate things) but no - I got a new computer and it's the same thing.

Re: Human/robot barriers and a Hello
Welcome and congrats on your new Moog! Sorry to read elsewhere that you are having issues with it. I have been a member of this forum for almost 20 years! I have definitely had to log back in regularly for at least the past few years. Maybe due to the browser I use? Not sure, it's somewhat i...

Re: Favorite Yes Keyboardist
You definitely have eclectic tastes in music! And lots of experiences and connections. I guess after a while they start to add up, maybe even overlap. That's cool that you've seen a bunch of concerts - I was fortunate to see some good stuff when I was in Tokyo in the '80s - speaking of keyboardists,...

Re: Favorite Yes Keyboardist
Yes had different keyboard players over the years. Which one was your favorite and why? I like the first four - hard to rank them. I have my favorite moments from each. Can I rank those? 1. Rick Wakeman - Hammond solo in Roundabout (Fragile)/Mellotron on Siberian Khatru (Close to the Edge)/Birotron...

Re: Rick Wakemans greatest Yes Album
Was wondering what fans of RW consider his best album with Yes. I like The Yes Album I believe that’s what it was called and if I remember right it was thier first album Actually, their first keyboardist was Tony Kaye, he was on the first three albums (of which The Yes Album is #3), then Rick Wakem...

Re: Subharmonicon Rhythm
There's a trick to have the DFAM do less than 8 steps, by patching PITCH to TEMPO and setting the pitch dials of the ones you want to keep at minimum, and the ones you want to skip to maximum (also set velocity to minimum on the steps to skip). Downside is that you'll lose the pitch lane for shapin...

Re: Subharmonicon Rhythm
I feel your pain! I don't think I've been able to make a simple 4/4 rhythm with the Subharmonicon yet. Which is fine - that's not what I got it for. The main problem for me is not being able to have the DFAM do anything other than 8 steps - I really wish you could select 5 steps or 6 or 7 or whateve...

Re: Subsequent CV 37 with CP251 and Moogerfoogers
Do you have the Moogerfooger manuals? They are written as instructional manuals, explaining the various CV applications and giving sample settings. Even though many of them are over 20 years old, they are still relevant, especially the CP-251 as far as CV - I had a lot of fun with it! Check out page...

Re: dipping into modular advice?
That's pretty good - I can barely get 1-2 octaves out of my Sirin!
I bet it sounds amazing, between the circuits and what you coax out of it.

Re: Moog One Review after several months
Maybe the ONE refers to the original MOTHER? As in Gaia, Prajñā-Pāramitā, etc. (couldn't help it with the diacriticals) @Ronfairchild, I really appreciated your review. I think some people expect a piece of gear to bend to their desire and will - and I get it. It's a utilitarian view. But I prefer t...

Re: Matriarch: multiple oscs sound is phasey, volume and bass loss
I don't have a Matriarch, but I have owned other Moog synths (Micromoog, Rogue, Little Phatty, currently own a Sirin). One thing that I didn't see in a brief look at the manual is that analog synths need to warm up. Once it's warmed up, you can then tune the oscillators - the main one to what you're...

Re: Sirin/Minitaur octave up/down
Thank you for the suggestions!
I think the Morningstar MC-3 would work. Not seeing them in-stock - hope they still make them! I don't need to do a lot of things - just shift octaves and maybe select presets.

Sirin/Minitaur octave up/down
I love playing my Sirin with either Roland PK-5A or McMillen 12-Step bass pedals. However, in both cases, switching octaves requires two button pushes. On the Roland, it doesn't happen instantly, I find there is a noticeable delay. On the 12-Step, the Select button is hard to push, despite adjusting...
