What I mean is this. In a creative process you will probably want to go back and change or add something to an already recorded audio track. Then it is good if you have different midi tracks (with editor instances) for each audio track so you can go back, do the midi changes (if not played manually)...

Osc 2 is synced with osc 1.
Set osc 2 to a higher pitch than osc 1.

If you want to go sw, "Kontakt" from Native Instruments is a fantastic sample player.
You can record samples with Audacity (or similar) and import the files to Kontakt.

I don't know how Pro Tools works, but this is obviously a daw-question and not a midi- or phatty-question.
Maybe someone else here knows PT or if you can find a PT-forum somewhere.
