Moog Floor. They're heavy into dance music...

Re: Dark Time

Here's a demo of the MAQ 16/3 controlling a Voyager. Row 1 > pitch, row 2 > filter cutoff, row 3 > step time. Rows 1 & 3 are random, row 2 is set to pendulum (back and forth). All 3 rows are 16 steps. What I really love about the MAQ is that it's MIDI & analog. You can have it spit out CCs, ...

Re: Freqbox or RingMod for synthbass with electric bass?

Well, the way a typical ring mod works is that the output is the addition and subtraction of the carrier and modulator frequencies. Therefore, if you input the same frequency to both inputs, you'll have an output of an octave higher (2x initial frequency.) IE, if you input A above middle C (440Hz) i...

Re: Saving/backing up individual presets

For individual presets, I just use page 3.2 under the Master button on the synth (either Send panel sound or Send Preset(s) depending on what I need) to a SysEx program (SysEx Libraian 1.1 for the Mac). Since I only have the demo version of the editor software, I just use it for fooling around w/ th...

Re: Voyager Operating System update ??

I could be wrong, but I think that Rudi mentioned that adding more wonderful things to the OS would possibly add to knob turning zipper noise. After all: the Phatty only has 4 knobs that are being scanned at any time. The Voyager has about 10 X that... Having said that, I *love* my Voyager! Sure, it...

Re: books?

Allen (R.I.P.) Strange's Electronic Music Systems (either edition 1 or 2). It was used as a college textbook, so it's pretty good. ;-) Good luck finding a copy, though... Prentice Hall had an electronic textbook version of Edition 2 a few years ago, but it's OOP now. Unfortunately, my copy is heavil...

Re: What are your recording setups?

I have an 8 track set up. It's 8 highly trained African Grey parrots who completely mimic any sound I make w/ the Voyager. TOTALLY analog, but editing (and cleanup...) is a real pain... Seriously, I used to use a Mackie 1202 (original version) to a Fostex 8 track reel to reel (in storage since Katri...

Re: System 15 for sale

Well, as far as ridiculous goes, how about a BROKEN Moog Satellite (a fairly unexciting preset beast) w/ a BIN of $999? http://cgi.ebay.com/1970s-Vintage-Moog-Sattelite-Synthesizer-model-5330-/250758145872?_trksid=p4340.m263&_trkparms=algo%3DSIC%26its%3DI%252BC%26itu%3DUCI%252BIA%252BUA%252BFICS...

Re: System 15 for sale

You could buy a complete Döepfer basic modular AND a Moog MF-101 VCF for well under $3K and have a good deal more capability than a System 15. But then you couldn't say you spent $35,000 on a *real* Moog...

Re: Do you make Noise with your Moog?

I've done noise-type improv w/ my Voyager; lots of fun! It's great in conjunction w/ tiny synths or toys: Bleep Labs Thingamagoop, Flower Electronics Little Boy Blue, Nintendo Electrplankton, etc. Check out Hal McGee's stuff for Voyager RME + other weirdness (there's a great deal of his stuff @ arch...

Re: Alternate tuning...

True, but I don't have a CP... :( Plus, if it were software enabled, 1, it'd free up that much more CV for other fun. I *have* done the KB CV > Attenuator > Osc on my modular, but due to not being able to turn off the internal KB CV on the Voyager, it won't work w/o the CP. 2, like on the Phatty, yo...

Well, now that the Phatties have alternate scale tuning, is there any way we can get it for our Voyagers? Rudi? :?:

Re: XL ribbon

That Walking Stick looks *great* but they're discontinuing the current version this month and making a new one sometime next year... Of course, that Doepfer one looks tasty (and has both MIDI & CV): http://www.doepfer.de/R2M.htm

XL ribbon

Just wondering: will Moog possibly offer this as an add on? I'd *love* one for my Sig Series Voyager!
