Re: Voyager vs Old School vs New Model D

Yes, I think we're all hoping the new D has those slightly out of control oscillators and bite.

Re: Voyager vs Old School vs New Model D

Synths and guitars both are valued for their tone and expressiveness, not new features. The heady days of a new synth technology every year are over. People want the synth to sound good. Model Ds, prophets, ARPs sound good. Teles, strats and Les Pauls sound good. Manufacturers makes, musicians buy. ...

Re: New Model D ?

What an amazing journey from 60's early ciruits to modulars to minimoog to polyphony to digital control back to minimoog. We have seen the trajectory of a technology from birth, explosive growth and in its maturity, returning to tone instead of chasing new features.

Re: MP201 V3

I'm in. Would love to get those 4 LFOs tweaked from a USB controller. The pedal doesn't interest me so much as the CV functions inside.

Re: What is missing from a Voyager XL?

So you aren't connecting anything to the CV inputs of the Voyager?

Re: What is missing from a Voyager XL?

I'm wondering how the mix of XL and 5U modular work together. I suspect the modular takes over. From the experiments I have done with other analogs and Voyager EB, the external inputs are smoothed for slow CV and don't respond well to audio frequency modulation. Try an external oscillator to Voyager...

Re: What happened to OS 3.6

I don't think there is documentation for this update, it appears to be a secret  The reason I needed this update is that you can disable receiving or transmitting MIDI CC for any knob of switch. I set them to all not send CC's then turned on notes, pitch bend, mod whl, pressure, sysex. This mak...

Re: What happened to OS 3.6

Wow! Just updated my Voyager EB to 3.6 beta and its exactly what I needed. Now the Voyager doesn't make everything else upset when you turn the knobs. I am so happy. :D Also glad to get rid of the patches changing when you turn the audio input knob. I never liked that feature. Surprised its copyrigh...

What happened to OS 3.6

I wish I could filter controllers sent from the Voyager. I believe this was in 3.6 beta. What happened to this version? My one and only Midi Solutions Event Processor is busy in another task so I don't really want to buy another one.

Re: Touchscreen Friction

The touch screen is completely unnatural and uncomfortable to use IMO, and the friction on it is far more than touch pads on quality notebooks. It is unusable and a waste of front panel real estate. You are right, Ankret, you need to press on the surface for it to work and this pressure causes frict...

Re: Wow, Mother-32 has reinvigorated Moog!

Having watched videos of the step sequencer in the Sub 37 I can say Mother-32 totally gets sequencing right with a vibe the Sub-37 doesn't have. And the M-32 videos show off capabilities without being too hipster, too technical or unmusical. Well done Moog!

I had no idea there was a sequencer in the Sub37. Sorry about the stuff up.

Wow, Mother-32 has reinvigorated Moog!

I didn't want to like the Mother-32 but I believe it has reinvigorated Moog Music. As Elektron know very well, a built in sequencer adds so much to a synth. A sequencer is rightfully part of the instrument not an optional add on. So Mother-32 came out of nowhere and sets a new energy and direction t...

Re: Voyager RME Discontinued

The poly debate is a tough one. There are many fine digital synths and digital is such a natural match for polyphony (and analog is clearly not) that making true analog path polys now seems unnecessary. I guess it comes down to musical purpose. If this long awaited analog poly just plays the Jump in...
