Re: sound is "going away" after a minute or so...

I never use the headphone output. But...Very occasionally I'll get a stuck note and not realize it. Depending on the sustain and release settings of the envelopes, the sound can fade out while playing. After it fades out it won't make a sound until the stuck note is released. The first time this hap...

Re: Mogue!!

I started out saying Moooog, many years ago. Then I learned the "correct" pronunciation from an uptight GC employee. Then I learned that Bob himself and family pronounce it differently and went back to Moooog. I constantly annoy folks who think they have the final say on someone else's nam...

Re: Bass overload in my band

Arranging music for a tight bass section can be very challenging. (In the studio or live) Maybe play "around" each other so when one of you is doing the big bass the other can do something involving HF or Mids. Think of it as a side chain application for a compressor. When you side chain a...

Re: Classic Buttery Moog Bass on Sub37

Agree 1000%...There are so many textures/tones to be had by just using the mixer volumes combined with the Multi-drive & Feedback. It's like having a pedal board and amp to tweak. Who needs a filter? I like using Osc 2 as the sub sometimes because the triangle waveform has some serious gir...

Re: Small S37 issues-VST Editor as well

Update:
Re-Routed some cables, noise improved by a few db. Splurged on a Monster Performer 600 cable and now the noise has completely disappeared. Digital black registering in Nuendo via the Audient ASP-880 DI input. USB connected and all. So happy.

Re: Sub 37 & Slim Phatty Poly Chain

Thanks for documenting all this here in the forum. I'm thinking about picking up a SP at some point so this will be very helpful info. 1 question though...Have you noticed a difference in the basic sound of the synths? SP vs S37? Many claim the SP has a more organic/analogue character. It has analog...

Re: Figuring out the Preset Design Parameters

Have you installed the Software Editor? I think it is the only way to see the settings you are talking about. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about that. It is great for deconstructing presets and seeing what the hell is actually going on. Very good preset management as well. Once you have registere...

Re: Post your latest purchase!!

The Moog EP-3 and The Sub 37 Dust Cover. The Dust cover is heavier then I thought it would be.
Nice quality. The EP-3 is working great as well.

Re: Installing the Sub 37 Editor

Hi everyone, When trying to install the editor, I click on the .exe (Windows 10) file and the editor opens up directly. It's not letting me install it like a regular program. Is that the way it's supposed to be? Yea, that is what happened with me too. I thought it was strange but I didn't question ...

Re: How to use as External Effects Processor

I don't use Logic, Nuendo here but the ideas are the same. You need to send a signal out of your audio card hardware to the input of the Moog. I do this with an aux send that is then routed to a physical output on my audio card. From there, it's just a matter of getting the signal to the Moog input....

Moog Families of Sound

What is the Mother 32 based on as far as the basic sound. (Not features) Does it fall into the Sub Synth Category...Sub Phatty, Sub 37 etc. Or is it based on the Modulars family sound? Moog call it a "Semi-Modular" so I thought it might be based on the modular's basic sound generation. (Sa...

In regard to the USB noise there is a thread already: http://forum.moogmusic.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=15694&hilit=usb+noise+minitaur I guess we are speaking about the same one? Huh, Sorry I didn't see that. Does sound like the same issue though. For now I'm good just unplugging the usb when...

Re: Random mode on Sub 37 sequencer

No "random mode" but the editor software can already do this. You can randomize the preset and the sequencer separately.

Re: Handling multiple synth tracks in a project.. Tips?

Document everything...Every midi take, every audio export. I use Nuendo and it has "track versions" so I can keep the same midi track active, create a new version, and use the same midi track again for the next sound/part. Track notes are helpful as well. Each track in Nuendo has a notepad...
