Thanks for warning me.

I had a similar (although not that bad) experience with the people from Polyfusion; sent them a mail several months ago for prices of the modular (and original MOOG) systems somewhere on their website, and still haven't got any answer yet. :(

Moog modulars today: where and how much ?

Does anybody know where I'd have the chance to buy a great old working MOOG modular like the System 35 or 55, or the even older System 3C ? And how much would these beauties cost (appr.) - let's say for a basic version ? I saw some great looking ones on http://www.analogsynths.com/ (in the "Sto...

The basic Memorymoog and Memorymoog+ have a very bad reputation caused by their floating/drifting oscillators problem. The sound and features are great but the oscillators are very unreliable. I'd go for a Prodigy - although it's the most expensive one (± $650). But it has an acceptable number of essential features and 2 VCO which makes it by far the best of the "smaller" aka "less expensive" MOOG synths. Enjoy !!

Re: Polyphonic vs. monophonic

Are all Moog synths monophonic? Does Mr. Moog plan on a new polyphonic synth in the future? 1. no they aren't: the Polymoog is basically polyphonic, and I use a 6-voice polyphonic Memorymoog; 3 VCO par voice , and a mono modus option which gives 18 VCO's. That's the bomb... 2. About new polyphonic ...

Yes he did. Some reviews say this about Numan: "A progenitor and imaginative practitioner of the Moog synthesizer, Numan employs both a mini-Moog and poly-Moog on Telekon, but unlike most of his contemporaries, Numan advanced his use of the synthesizer beyond mere showy, mindless electronic fri...
