I'd recommend the Waldorf Largo plug in for VA pads: only costs $249 and it sounds great (*very* similar to the Blofeld. Heck, Blofeld and Largo were both great Bond villians!)! My hardware poly synths are Hartmann Neuron (best sounding pad/digital/weirdness synth out there. Unfortunately, Hartmann ...

Great pix, MC! I'm also diggin' the (typical for the times) giganto senior ring (hey, I was 18 in 81, too!). Got my synthesis start in the fall of 1980: saved up all the $$$ from the summer job and bought a Rickenbacker 4001 in Mapleglo ($700) and a Korg MS-20 ($500). Still have both of them! No one...

Since you can get the software update to OS 3.4 for free (and this cures the multi pot turning stepping problem), AND you say you don't need 4 banks of sounds, I'd go for the VX 351 first. Even if you don't have other CV gear, you can still do crazy patching with the 351 and the Voyager back panel. ...

This tended to freak out the musicians coming from a stricter (playing only what was written) background, but I had no problem with it. Of course, this was a requir...

I have the Doepfer MAQ 16/3, and it's incredible. you can use it as a completely analog seque (it has CV/gate for each row), or as a MIDI seque. The MIDI part is prettty neato: you can send pitch, CC, pressure, pitch bend, program change, poly-aftertouch, etc. It's incredibly flexible, yet intuitive...
