Re: Mini Mod filter .....unexpected behaviour.

Thanks for your reply, it could be CV I can’t rule anything out ..
I’ve also written to AJH with the problem but could do with some experienced opinions.

Mini Mod filter .....unexpected behaviour.

Today I received the Mini Mod Mini-Moog filter module by AJH synths and have been giving it a try out. It’s brand new, all works well however there is an issue. I noticed while trying out the various functions a noticeable low “thump” associated with the Emphasis Control. I’m using an Oakley VCO (si...

Early 901b ...

Does anyone know if the early versions of the 901b were ever put into production ? I’m thinking of the July 1966 prototypes of which there’s schematics in the Moog archive. Or are most 901bs built basically using the Norlin schematics ? I know the boards vary on the early 901bs. When I visited Marti...

Re: My Grandmother is dead

I may be totally wrong but I just have a feeling that if it failed so bad after less than two weeks there could be a design or manufacture fault that needs sorting. Therefore I’ll wait and maybe repurchase in the future. I know that when ever I flick the ‘on’ switch with a Grandmother I’ll be hoping...

Re: My Grandmother is dead

Update.....

Took it back to shop...he tried all he could to bring it back to life but alas ...still dead. No output, Modulation light stuck, no sync light working...plus other things.

I’m afraid this is my first shop bought Moog and losing confidence I requested money back which was the outcome.

My Grandmother is dead

Yes....had it not two weeks I was playing it via a midi track and then it started to emit the sequence all on one note only. When I tried the keyboard it was dead...tried all controls and connections ..new lead ...nothing. Now there is zero output from keys or midi ....no clicks ... nothing. Everyth...

Final audio output ?

I see from most Modular users that in general, the final output from the Modular goes from a 902 VCA. I would have thought that the final output would be from a CP3 or Matrix mixer, I know there can be no definitive output module but it does seem that most use a VCA as final output and now I'm wonde...

911 modification

Does anyone have any info regarding circuitry of any envelope generator that features a Hold stage ? I would like to see an example as to how it's done with the possibility of modifying one of me 911 clones. I recently bought a Mini Mod ADSR and tried it in the clone Moog Modular and was surprised a...

Re: early Modular cabinets actually Walnut ?

Thanks for your comments. There's no comparison like eye to eye contact and as mentioned photos can deceive for sure. When I saw two 3C's face to face I was immediatly struck by how light and orange the cabinets were...like my old school oak desk. Not much figuring in the wood. I notice that new Moo...

early Modular cabinets actually Walnut ?

I've always been aware of the notable 'orangey' colour of early Modular cabinets...when comparing them to American or European Walnut they hardly match up. Could it be that teak was used on these early cabinets. ? Comparing the early cabinets Teak seems much more of a match than Walnut. Even Walnut ...

Re: 921b sync clone

Thanks very much for your very helpful info. I have connected pin 10 to -6 v but alas the unit is still dead. I suspect, as you say, the fault might lay around IC12 where the schematics are a little vague. I need to start again I think. Interesting about R102..it's always good to check and compare t...

Re: 921b sync clone

I am using the metal can version ...I will hook up -6v to the pin 10 and see if I can bring the sync to life..
Thanks for your input. I'll report back the results.

921b sync clone

Not having much luck getting my clone 921b sync section to work.

Does anyone know if pin 10 of the ua796 in the sync section, is actually connected maybe to -6 ? The schematic says blank...(apart from connections to R36 and R57)

Also, is there any other schematic available apart from the Norlins ?
